В аромате преобладают ваниль, карамель, кленовый сироп и жжёный дуб, к которым добавляются арахисовая ореховость (фирменная черта Jim Beam), цитрусовая цедра, мята и коричнево-сахарная сладость; у части авторов проскакивают вишня, банан и лёгкие тона ацетона. Во вкусе — мягкая кукурузная сладость, ваниль и тоффи, затем дубовая пряность, ржаной перец и маслянистая, «густая» текстура; послевкусие чаще короткое-среднее, с мёдом, дубом и лёгкой горчинкой. Хвалят сбалансированность, интегрированный спирт при 50% и высокое соотношение цена/удовольствие; критикуют невыразительное послевкусие, местами избыточную спиртуозность и простоту без глубины, ожидаемой от девятилетней выдержки. Опытные ревьюеры держатся плотного диапазона 78–86 и подчёркивают уверенное качество за свои деньги при сдержанной сложности; один отмечает заметную горечь и то, что с водой раскрывается лучше. Simply a great bourbon with a fantastic price-to-enjoyment ratio. It took me a while to get into it (or rather, into bourbon in general), but for some time now I've realized that it can be a truly wonderful experience if you're in the right mood.

A nice standard bourbon at (almost) cask strength. You can also drink it pure (like most good bourbon - bye the way: which cocktail with the great drink cola actually tastes good?)
Нос 84 The nose is strong and a bit sharp. The flavors are sweet, lots of corn, a little spice and grain. For a 30-40 euro whiskey, that's not bad if you're into bourbon. More cereal notes with water.
Вкус 82 The palate starts out amazingly mild for 50%. Lots of soft corn sweetness, vanilla and then the oak. Uncomplicated and delicious. Milder with water, but also flatter.
Финиш 83 The mouthfeel is good, soft, like a round batch should be. The finish is rather short and not complex, but the sweetness is nice.

An incredible price to quality value proposition with this whiskey and has the profile of a daily drinker. A classic, traditional bourbon profile, with some peanut shell as typical with a Jim Beam product. Nothing special, but for the price, solid. Doesn't really feel like a 9 year old bourbon, however. An affordable, balanced, aromatic and flavorful Kentucky bourbon. A standard that all core range bourbons are measured against. Just a solid, well balanced, aromatic and flavorful Kentucky bourbon. No flaws, well produced, and well priced.

These days, I don't write about bourbon often because it's hard to explain its subtle nuances in words, but I decided to give it a try thanks to the Knob Creek viral. This is a bourbon with quite a lot of peanut-type nuts, and a mixture of oiliness and oak, giving it a very 'thick' feel. Although it is not a style I personally prefer, it is a drink that stands out with many elements that give it a bold feel among the unique aroma and taste of bourbon. (100: GOAT, 90: top tier, 80: no major drawbacks, 70: something disappointing, 60: major drawbacks)
Нос 86 - Canned cherries (maraschino cherries) that have a strong scent the moment you smell them. - A sticky, caramel-based sweet scent. The nuttiness of the nuts is also mixed together to give a heavy feeling. It is difficult to mention the exact nuts, but the scent seems to be like a peanut-type earthy scent. - In addition to the heavy feeling above, vanilla also gives a thick feeling. - Bitter scent of charred oak and a slight grassy scent. - A bit of orange peel-based citrus blends in. There is also an acetone-based scent mixed in. : N Summary - Thick bourbon scent.

However, it feels less fragmented than other bourbons. - The more you roll it in your mouth, the more oily it feels. It tastes like this is what it would taste like if oil was squeezed out of burnt oak. A diverse mix of burnt wood, oak, nuts, etc. : P Summary - Tastes that highlight other bourbon characteristics rather than sweetness
Финиш 80 The finish is long. - The scent of burnt oak is strong and it also has a leather-like feel. - The spice of pepper becomes quite spicy for a moment. - There is a slight sweetness of caramel, but overall it is not the main flavor. - A slightly bitter banana peel-like vanilla scent mixed with grassy scent. - The oily texture remains for quite a long time. As mentioned in the taste, it has a hint of peanut, mainly oak, and a bit of grass. - There is a bit of orange peel-type citrus, but overall it does not have a significant effect and is buried in oiliness. : F Summary - Stop sticking to the sticky finish!

Successful re-launch of the age statment. Compared to the old 9 yo from 2017(?) this one's less spirity and the rye is more prominent both on the nose and the tongue.

If you like Jim beam this is a must. The typical JB notes from say a white label or black label BUT much more mature and this one has no off notes about it. N: Oak, vanilla, citrus fruits, JB nuttiness, sweet. P: Citrus fruits with vanilla sauce (sounds interesting). Heavy charred oak notes. Nuttiness and toffee. F: Medium, great for what it is.

When chilled, the vanilla cream ice cream has a sweet and mellow aroma that isn't overpowering, and it doesn't smell like paint. The initial taste is sweet, sour, and oaky, with a predominantly sour aftertaste and a slight, barely noticeable oak flavor, followed by a subtle, almost imperceptible bitterness. However, the flavor doesn't offer much room for imagination. At room temperature, the aroma doesn't change much, but the sweetness becomes more pronounced, especially when smelled for a long time; the sourness on the palate weakens, the malty sweetness intensifies, and the oak flavor becomes richer. Great nose with lots of caramel and vanilla. Flattens out a bit on the tongue and doesn't have a particularly long finish, but for the price it's a really solid bourbon.

This finish is also lacking compared to Small Batch but overall - great sweet, nutty, vanilla-honey, oaky, balanced bourbon. For Fridays Update: on second try finish is much better

Knob Creek 9 Year follows the Jim Beam “standard bourbon mash bill”: •75% corn → gives sweetness, body, caramel notes •13% rye → adds spice and peppery heat •12% malted barley → helps with fermentation and adds a light nutty/grain note. Oak, vanilla custard brown sugar sweetness, nutty, toffee, caramels, spicy herbal and peppery. An enjoyable tasty bourbon.

I first had the 9 in a nosing glass, but it wouldn't go down neat after the BT. In the tumbler with ice it performed better. Reminds me of the Eagle Rare 10, with more caramel. In contrast to the BT, I find it lacking in spice.

incense Sue If Porosis Singbae tastes like flower + cherry, this one has a weak cherry flavor and is nutty The vanilla flavor is not as strong as expected After a while, the cherry flavor bursts and the nutty taste is slightly diminished. It would have the same alcohol content as Watuck, but I thought it was a much less stimulating and comfortable bourbon.

A robust, characterful bourbon. A beautiful interplay between sweetness and spice. Not too complex, but not boring either. The price-performance ratio is very good. The alcohol is superbly integrated and never harsh.
Нос 83 Vanilla and caramel are immediately noticeable on the nose. Oak wood joins in with subtle herbal notes. My first association is Wrigley's Juicy Fruit bubble gum!
Вкус 84 Here too, vanilla and burnt caramel emerge first. Roasted peanuts, a touch of oak bitterness. It's quite oily on the palate. Then notes of honey, rubber, tobacco, and milk chocolate join in. On the herbal side, cinnamon and nutmeg reappear. All of this is accompanied by a subtle ginger spiciness. A pleasant interplay between sweetness and oak spice develops. It's both robust and agreeable.
Финиш 83 The finish is short to medium. The interplay between oak and sweetness lingers, accompanied by hints of honey and peanuts. A touch of dryness remains at the end.
