Boosted by active casks without it feeling concocted. The smoke hides the youth, the wine casks add depth, the result is thoroughly enjoyable.

A very nice Blended Malt, which for the price of 50 € is worth knowing. A lot of sweets, smoke, chocolate and citrus notes seem to be a great addition to an afternoon reading or a magazine. Water drop... Aroma - sweeter and with earthy scents. The chocolate was muffled. As for me, this "-" Taste - sweeter, I can smell heather honey, sugar syrup, vanilla, a lot more fruit in the form of sherry raisins and candied banana, the smoke still emanates pleasantly ... Big "+". Finish - less spicy, softer, but still smoky and chocolatey. The length is unchanged, but the citrus notes are more dominant. Also here for a big "+". To sum up ... While the aroma lost its value after adding water, the taste and finish improved more. It is worth trying both in the original version and with the addition of water. I will definitely taste it with water, because it is a much better drink for me. I am glad that I could taste and buy a bottle of this very good Blended Malt.

Final review Peated, spicy, and dominated by red wine, this bottle is truly one of a kind. It offers an extremely wide range of aromas and flavors that can change dramtically from one tasting to the next, making it one of the few whiskies I would categorize as kaleidoscopic and protean. The aroma, flavor, and finish are markedly different, constantly evolving with time and dilution. Unfortunately, I don't find the overall profile convincing, and all I can say is that, at least for me, it's fine, but not particularly enjoyable. Given how "eclectic" it is, I just can't provide a definitive review. Aroma: Sometimes, sherry aromas dominate, with notes of cinnamon, honey, chocolate, dunnage, dates, and raisins. At other times, the red wine takes the lead, bringing forward red fruits, forest, and herbal notes (eucalyptus), and grape tannins. Occasionally, a slight peat emerges, with hints of bonfire, toasted oak, and Islay peat with coastal touches, while other times the smoke is almost imperceptible. What is always present are the spicy, peppery young wood, vanilla, fruit, nuts, and wine notes (whether fortified or red). Flavor: What initially seems to be a sherry/red wine cask-driven whisky reveals itself also as a medium-peated one. The sherry almost completely disappears, with the red wine sometimes dominating over the peat (plum, pepper, chili, red fruits, paprika, forestry) and other times the peat overpowers the red wine (peat smoke, charred oak, tobacco, licorice, seafood, seaweed, coffee, medicinal notes). It remains consistently fruity and herbal, with a smoked paprika background. It is very spicy and astringent. Finish: Once again, the profile changes considerably. Sometimes the herbal notes take precedence (mint, eucalyptus, rosemary, thyme), at other times, the milk chocolate, raisins, and dates from the sherry, and yet again, it can also be be reminiscent of a red wine finish, dominated by red fruits. The finish is always very dry, somewhat nutty, and smoky, akin to a strong lapsang souchong tea. It builds up, becoming a true chili peat bomb if one keeps sipping, eventually leading to a dominance of peat, charred wood, and chili pepper, simplifying the overall experience. The finish is the least favorable of the three stages, with some off-notes typically associated with certain whiskies matured in red wine casks. The whisky is excessively spicy, and the red wine is perpetually present, causing many of the delicate nuances from the sherry and peat to be indistinguishable and not fully realized. However, the combination of red fruits, smoked paprika, young oak and Islay’s peat is very interesting to explore. What Mr. Walker attempts here is astonishingly risky: a high-quality peat-and-red-wine-dominated Scotch, with a significant amount of spicy young oak to mask the flaws and a touch of sherry to attempt to bring it all together. It doesn't work for me, but the experimentation and originality are at least commendable. If you enjoy red wine driven Scotch, you're likely to love this. Personally, I prefer any Meikle Toir over this one; it's not even close, honestly. Despite everything, it is, without a doubt, interesting and of very high quality, so I suppose it's fine stuff.

Feel a little bit of inland peat, heavy body, miscellaneous fruit and spices, dry feel and smoke in moderation

A very beautiful cask, although it's a spicy cherry thing, but for 60€ I'll buy it, it's such a bold whiskey, it's presented in a different and striking way

Peanuts and their shells, anise, some papaya, pulpy orange juice, wax, medicine cabinet, some caramel, and a full ashtray.

LUM Reek blended CS batch one- as a separate brand under Billy walker, glenallachie, liquor is very new, smell rare but luckily, it still creates some interesting flavors like sour plum, hawthorn, spices, chocolate, honey syrup, not bad!

Maraschino cherry, dirty sooty smoke, eucalyptus, beef broth, earthy, medicinal and herbal on the nose. Drinks below ABV, a little thin in terms of mouthfeel, more cherry, stewed red berries, smoke and a pleasant tangy sensation. Finish is more smoky earthiness that patiently evolves into a cherry lozenge with a skiff of soil on it. A little unbalanced and the palate falls short but those are minor gripes. Solid whisky - one to just drink to enjoy.

My neck pour of this was gross so I let it sit for about 3 weeks after opening and naturally became better. Without a doubt the "dirtiest" tasting whisky I've had out of Glenallachie. Edradour-esque in that regard.

A dram/bottle that takes some time to get the most out of. Pretty fun to watch it cloud up like crazy with some water.
