Johnnie Walker 'Red Label - Old Scotch Whiskey' Bottled in the 80's. 40%. Nose: We are on rather basic aromas of caramel, vanilla, with a hint of ripe banana. However, I have the opportunity to compare it to the current version and the difference is noticeable. It is much lighter, with a more floral side, a slight hint of leather. One point for the old one. Palate: Well it's not a huge revelation, however there is a hold on the palate. Cereals, vanilla, caramel and banana just like on the nose. Alcohol is not super integrated. But again, there is material. Compared to the modern version, it has a small advantage, in the sense that it can still concern something other than just mixology. Final: It's a good length, on this side I'm pleasantly surprised. After the flavors are not remarkably balanced, there is excessive youth ... in short, I'm not going to run after this kind of product. I believe the interest lies in collecting old goods, rather than finding a taste, an old school style.

It seemed to me very worthy, well made, albeit young, but this youth and agility is well disguised.
