After the first sniff and tasting, I was skeptical. Very sweet fruits. Maybe red fruit jelly with vanilla sauce, but in a sweet way. With each sip, it loses some of its sweetness and becomes more mature. Peach on the nose. Drooling. Initially 84 points, later 89. For an even higher rating, more depth is needed. 86-90 – Wow, really good one, needs a bottle

Okay, Uncle Marco's labels are sometimes way off the mark. This is kitsch! The whisky is supposed to evoke summer vibes – but the sun was a bit too hot for this one. At least there's some information. The whisky comes from Northern Ireland, is 19 years old – so the number 1608, which might appear on the label, is completely unnecessary. That's whisky from the time before the countless distilleries were founded, which then flooded the market with random Great Northern Stuff until their own whiskies were ready. A whisky I initially underestimated. However, in direct comparison with other very successful Irish whiskies from the seemingly inexhaustible Brühl cellars, such as 'Tarantel' and 'Einhorn', it proves to be surprisingly intense and compelling, with strong notes of multivitamin juice, caramel, papaya, and peach jam. The 19-year-old Northern Irish whisky from the A Dream of Ireland series by Brühl Whisky House presents itself as an exceptionally smooth, aromatic, and characterful single malt that immediately captivates. Despite its robust 54.1% ABV, it displays remarkable elegance. The alcohol is perfectly integrated throughout, carrying the aromas without ever overpowering them, and lending the whisky a pleasantly rich structure. Particularly noteworthy is the pronounced fruitiness and sweetness, which runs like a thread through the entire experience. This whisky doesn't necessarily come across as typically Irish – rather, it exhibits a distinctive, modern style that makes it especially intriguing. On the nose, it unfolds an impressive complexity. Warm oak and gentle spice notes form the foundation, while marzipan, caramel, and the finest floral nuances provide additional depth. This is complemented by an alluring sweet and fruity freshness. Mango, peach, and even a hint of gummy bears combine to create a wonderfully inviting bouquet. On the palate, it is creamy and full-bodied. A generous sweetness blends with cherries and red berries, giving the whisky a vibrant fruitiness. The oak spice remains subtly in the background, providing just the right structure, while vanilla custard notes underscore the creamy mouthfeel and lend the mid-palate an almost dessert-like character. The finish is long, warm, and lingering. The red berries accompany the whisky until the very end, before a gentle touch of pepper adds a spicy accent and harmoniously rounds off the experience. Overall, this whisky is a prime example of a successful expression. It is fruit-forward, sweet, wonderfully balanced, and yet so distinctive that it clearly stands out from many classic Irish profiles. An absolutely delicious, high-quality, and memorable bottling.

Do I need scantily clad women on a whisky bottle? Definitely not. But you can't deny the label a certain aesthetic. But it's the content that counts, and it's definitely convincing. A great representative of the Emerald Isle. Wonderfully tropical fruity. Fresh and sweet. A bit grassy. Good alcohol content, nothing biting here. Once again, a really good barrel.

Nase: Süß, Vanille, Marzipan, Mango, Maracuja, Gewürze, Eiche, Malz | Geschmack: süß, würzig, Eiche, tropisch, Vanille, Pfirsich, Mango, helle Trauben, etwas Traubenschale | Abgang: Mittellang; süßes Malz, Vanille, helle Frucht, helle Traube und etwas Traubenschale bleiben. | Fazit: Die Nase startet intensiv und unglaublich süß. Vanille und Marzipan schließen sich an. Es wird tropisch. Mango und Maracuja stehen hier im Vordergrund. Dazu kommen Gewürze, Eiche und Malz. Tolle Nase. Der Geschmack beginnt ebenfalls intensiv und sehr süß. Eine ordentliche Würze kommt dazu. Eiche ist ebenfalls präsent. Es wird wieder tropisch. Vanille kommt zusammen mit Pfirsich und Mango. Helle reife Trauben habe ich dann noch. Zum Ende bleibt etwas Schale der Trauben. Wow. Das ist wieder ein Brett. Wie schon viele Iren vom Brühler Whiskyhaus, mit gewissem Alter und Reifung in Bourbon Fässern, ein Gedicht. Super süß, Vanille und immer in die tropische Richtung. Der Alkohol gibt schon ordentlich Gas. Ein Spritzer Wasser entspannt ihn etwas. | 90 Punkte

If there's one thing Marco excels at, it's Irish whiskys. What a fruit bomb! This Bushmills can more than hold its own against the official bottlings.

Extremely fruity, almost too much fruit at the beginning. Multivitamin juice, marzipan, tropical notes. A generous drop of water does this whisky a world of good. The long-awaited counterpoint arrives in the form of milk chocolate, very well-integrated oak, and the fruit becomes more complex: a blend of fruit tea and peppermint tea. Strong attack, very long finish. A rather ingenious bottling, which might initially come across as a bit one-sided or over-the-top. Those who just want to drink everything neat are missing half the experience, in my opinion. A refill hogshead? Where do these notes come from? Unbelievable.
