21 23 22 22 88 in tasting mode 88, does not have time to open, if you think about a bottle, then 90 ...

At first glance, this whisky comes across as too sour for its age, with too dominant minty bourbon notes. However, when I give it some time it reveals so much more. Especially with a few drops of water a very addictive, warm pallet with plums, dates, berries, toffee, pears, raisins and tobacco opens up, which doesn`t fade away easily. After finishing a glass, I`m immediately inclined to pour myself another dram.

The nose is very complex, the mouth after the lovely nose then surprisingly oaky, but that does not bother. A complex and well matured whisky.

Violent, very special thing, because the rating can vary widely, I like experimental stuff, especially when it comes down so hearty.

COLOR dark amber, reddish, copper - excellent non-smoky single malt from Islay - incredibly intense raisin / sherry / rum note - the price, of course, is far from good and evil .... simple just crazy, but great stuff

An incredibly intense, mature and voluminous malt - great barrel selection - 22 years of maturity - not very cheap, but also a top malt! [Color] copper;

An excellent, dense and rich middle-aged mole, for unhurried and thoughtful tastings, unsharp, calm, multifaceted and deep, verified balance, great gustiness, bravo!

Mineral freshness, like a draft in a cave. Spices, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar. It gets very soft little by little. A little woody, but it is above all the influence of the wine that is felt, light fruit, floral reflections, caramelized resin. Very ripe wheat, a little earth. Candied apricots, zucchini flower. In the mouth, it's devilishly good, although a little clear, lemonade, noble wood, heather, cashew nuts, grapes macerated in brandy. Slight bitterness, asparagus and lump eggs. Long finish, still very woody, varnish, fried butter, sunflower oil, yellow tomato. Mirabelle plum. Wood and wine leave their mark intensely. Certainly recommendable, but with a few drops of water. It reduces the acidity and the tannins to enjoyable levels and adds extra fruity elements and some spices. This makes the whisky both more balanced and developing. With water, 88 points, without still 85...

The bourbon here is completely destroyed by the sherry-wine influence. The whisky is wonderful and unique in its kind and style. Difficulty of note breakdown: 7/10 22 23 23 22

Just great whisky!

A carefully composed whisky. Balanced and extremely complex. There are many flavors that have woven well together and there are new flavors even at the end of the bottle. A nice whisky.

Nose: red fruit, less intense than the 2erBA, sweet, alcohol clearly, raspberry syrup, quite one-dimensional Taste: strong start, sweet dominated, warm, rum notes Finish: leaving only in the mouth, very long-lasting, After the BA2 rather disappointing, next time try the first BA3 maybe the mouth is not so glued ;-)

fruity, dignified, well balanced, incredible easy to drink and enjoy. this dram needs some time in the glas, dark fruits, some cherry, some sweet whine, moldy, a bit leathery, dry, add some spices, some malt, fruity, dried cereals,. Finish could be a bit longer for this one but still very fine. Fantastic dram!

I give 5.1 the edge as this has a mild sulphur note on the nose and palate, otherwise I think it would be a tie. Beautifully balanced and intricate play of oak, fruits, vanilla, and spice.

Again one of those extremely sweet and pleasing malts. Not particularly complex, but very nice to drink and enjoy,

Tasting notes Dugas: On the palate, Black Art III is also intensely fruity, but with notes of melon and ripe red fruits.

Great and mega complex. Would be for under or just under 200 € a really cool malt. But so the price is just too expensive.

A great, albeit hard-to-grasp nose leads to a very wine-like taste and finish. The Black Art again confirms that wine barrel aged whisky is absolutely not my case. Nevertheless, I recognize the good craft.

A great multi-layered scent that holds what the paper form promises: complexity and maturity. In the mouth, the whisky is then much drier than expected by the smell. The finish matches the taste. Unfortunately, in the mouth a little bit the complexity of the smell is missing. The whisky does not hide its age and looks very ripe.

Excellent drop ... Dark and sweet ... With 3 ml. Water to 2 cl. Whisky tip.

The Back Art 3.1 does not oxidize very well (especially on the last 1/3 of the bottle). I noticed on my 4th and 5th drams after opening it that I was already loosing it's dynamic punch (although only very slightly). Still very good, all the way to less than 1/3 of a bottle up until 3-4 weeks ago (one year after opened). But now, on the last dram that can be squeezed out, it's lost most of what it once had. The Black Art 3.1 needs to be consumed within in 6-10 months to fully enjoy this bottle, completely! Otherwise gas it once it's at 1/3 of a bottle (or sooner).

Bruichladdich Black Art 1989 Edition 03.1, 22 years, 48.7% ABV https://www.whiskybase.com/.../31.../bruichladdich-black-art-031 First impression / color / viscosity: terracotta; very oily - The tears trickle very slowly down the glass wall. Aroma / Nose feeling: Tart vanilla notes with clear floral impressions, which fortunately disappear quickly and give way to dark fruits and old leather. He is a bit moldy, the 03.1, but not so that it would bother. Taste / mouthfeel: Again, creamy and creamy. Extremely creamy even! However, there is something in the background which slightly pushes the overall impression. Is it again this floral note that does not like to be in whisky? Of course it's the fruits and sweet cream that make this malt look good too, but there's something here that I personally do not like. Although the single malt rescues in its entirety on the home straight, but point deduction in the freestyle will give it anyway. Of course, all this is petty and whining is on a very high level. Finish / aftertaste / Length: The finish is long and the Nachschmecken reflects the taste again. "Right" wood I do not taste soooo much. Of course it is present but well balanced. Comment: A very good Scotch with low weaknesses (from the barrels?). Overall, however, I am very happy to have tasted this piece of Islay history (with influences from the US and mainland Europe). Points: 91/100
