В аромате преобладают солод, сено и светлые фрукты — абрикос, яблоко, дыня, апельсиновая цедра, ваниль и мёд, с лёгкими морскими островными оттенками и необычной для этой винокурни травянисто-ржаной нотой, напоминающей американское ржаное виски; у опытных ревьюеров звучат также виноград и изюм. Вкус кремовый, с мёдом, ванилью, персиком и цитрусовой кислинкой, тело при этом тонковатое, но насыщенное по вкусу; послевкусие среднее, чистое, с белым перцем, имбирём, сеном и сухими травами, спирт держится долго. Отмечают хорошую плотность и интеграцию алкоголя для такого возраста и крепости.
Опытные оценивают выше и делают упор на приятный баланс сладости и сухости, необычность профиля и питкость, считая образец достойным пробы. Рядовые ревьюеры сдержаннее: их смущают травяные и ржаные ноты с оттенком тмина или кориандра, которые мешают, а главная претензия — цена: при запросе около 150–250 евро/фунтов виски проигрывает собственным сериям Islay Barley и Bere Barley, а также PC и Octomore, и повторной покупки не заслуживает. Разброс оценок при этом узкий (в основном 85–88, один выброс 90), то есть согласие о качестве высокое, а расхождение касается прежде всего соотношения цены и впечатления.
I wasn't overly sold on the concept behind this dram, but it tastes different to the usual core releases - it reminds me a little of a rye style. A decent dram that is well worth trying.

Good, but Bruichladdich's bar is high, and I'm not sure this can compete with their Islay Barley or Bere Barley series.

Great balance - really fruity with some more savoury tones to keep it in check. But I wouldn't personally spend £100 on it, let alone the £250 asked for on the market. December 2024 Malty, oaty, chalky, fruity. A little grassy and rye-like. A touch of caraway or coriander detract from the enjoyment for me now, especially on the palate, but still nice. Down 3 points from last time.

On the nose an absolute disappointment for me, the taste reconciles me a little. I have not yet drawn a direct comparison with the regular 10 or 8 series, maybe still to come. But even without this, I can say that I don't need a bottle of this, already three times not at this price. Around 150 euros (?) Until the bottle is with me - I get much better malts for that.

S 7 Successor of The Ternary Project, only been sold in the Distillery. Pretty good especially when the auction price dipped below RRP. But compared to other Bruichladdich, including PC and Octomore, this isn’t particularly interesting. Nonetheless very good texture and intensity at such an age and abv.

It has a relatively oily viscosity and its bouquet is of moderate intensity. I have aromas of vanilla, caramel, hay and apples. Moderately complex. A good balance between sweetness and dryness in terms of taste. The alcohol is very well integrated and it has a moderately heavy body.
