Хересный Clynelish на восковом дистилляте: тёмные фрукты, воск, орехи, солёно-морская нота. Опытные ценят баланс и сложность, но часть остальных находит его пересушенным, горьковатым и придавленным бочкой.

В аромате — марципан, молочный шоколад и карамель поверх изюма, чернослива и абрикосового джема, с характерными для винокурни пчелиным воском и мёдом, кремнистой минеральностью (известняк, кремень), табаком, кожей и лёгкими цветочно-травяными оттенками; несколько авторов отмечают отчётливую солёно-морскую, почти прибрежную ноту и деликатный дымок. Вкус маслянистый и обволакивающий, с тёмными фруктами, кофе, орехами, тёмным шоколадом и восковой текстурой, но заметно смещён в сухую, пряно-перечную и слегка горьковатую сторону; с водой раскрывается полнее, хотя ниже 43% рассыпается. Послевкусие среднее-долгое: воск, мёд, сухофрукты, какао, дубовые танины и лёгкая цитрусовая кислинка.
Опытные ревьюеры оценивают напиток выше и согласованно (86–91), хваля сложность, качественный херес, не забивающий восковой дистиллят винокурни, и баланс алкоголя; для них Clynelish уверенно доминирует над бочкой. Среди остальных разброс шире: часть ставит 90–93 и называет исполнение образцовым, но несколько авторов критикуют излишнюю сухость, горечь, пыльно-древесный характер и пропажу морских нот, считая бочку доминирующей и напиток уступающим более удачным собратьям серии. Общий рейтинг держится узко вокруг 89, что говорит о согласии относительно высокого, но не выдающегося уровня.

As with most sherried Clynelish the distillate is a bit overpowered there but it’s quality sherry with toffee dark fruits and sweet spices, very nice

| Нос | 91 | A rather subtle sherry influence, which leaves room for mineral impressions (limestone, shell limestone) and a pleasantly sweet fruitiness (apricot jam, prunes). Nevertheless, a weighty, "heavy" impression, which comes more from its age: this is clearly a well-matured refill malt with a wide range of aromas. After a while, the wood develops wonderfully fragrant, almost floral aspects; you feel like you're in a summer meadow. Now there are also honeycombs and beeswax. And a delicate smoky note. Clearly maritime, if I were blind I could be misled towards Bunnahabhain. Perfect, and I haven't even added any water. When diluted, the wood opens up even more delicately, and now you are almost reminded of tropical woods or Japanese whiskies with a Mizunara content. And of the 14-year-old OA - the distillery character is very present. |

I like my nose best if I could smell it forever. In the mouth, more peppery-spicy, slightly bitter notes come through. Another great Clynelish from the refill sherry butt, but I already had slightly better predecessors of these SV vases. On offer (approx. 150 euros) it would be worth a large bottle to me. (Rating: o)

This is how a great, successful sherry Clynelish must smell and taste for me. Perfect! Dried and sweetened plums on the nose, the raisins with brown sugar and caramel, as it should be, but then also the salty, maritime-style distillery. And then, of course, beeswax like pulling candles. This fragrance and later taste is and remains unique to me with Clynelish. The alk is soft and well integrated, but gives a little kick so that the taste can spread great. In the mouth the full load of beeswax, that's just great as the dram shows. Sure, there is also the typical sherry whisky somewhere, but Clynelish dominates with wax, salt, and oily-martial aromas, plus the slightly chalky / chalky, for which I do not find the right words to describe it. So I like a whisky just perfect. In the finish, everything remains the same, the complexity of the aromas does not decrease and shows all facets of the sherry, a little bitter oak and the distillery. Then a layer of wax remains in the mouth that still leaves the great taste in the mouth. And from me it should never go away! N-93, T-94, F-93 Perfection in 93 points. And I didn't want to buy a big bottle again for the next few weeks ... but if I miss it I'll regret it ... oh jeeee ....

Wow, this is truely a harmonious symphony of flavours. The refill sherry butt really enriches instead of overpowering the Clynelish destillate.
| Нос | 89 | Starts suprisingly fresh with chalk, dill, ketumbar and linseed. There's a minerality that borders on flintstone and sulphur. Then the sherry kicks in: strawberry jam, chocolate, a sourness and a lovely tobacco note. |

Actually a very pleasant sherry malt. What the nose promises does not stick with the palate. These maritime notes, as you have with other Clynelish ever, I miss completely. The barrel is already dominating. At the price a pity.
