В аромате — сладкий фруктовый пунш и мощная хересная сладость с отчётливой серой, морская вода, тонкая дубовая нота; малт мутный на вид и подчёркнуто самобытный. Во вкусе выделяют солёность (мансанилья или амонтильядо, ничего сладкого), тяжёлую сладость, мокрый спичечный коробок, лёгкую перечность и тёмный шоколад от дуба; текстура маслянистая, жирная, с выраженным копчёным мясом и беконом. В среднем по длине послевкусии главенствуют сладость и дуб, сера уходит на второй план; некоторые отмечают лёгкую спиртуозность и хотели бы больше фруктов и крепости, сетуя, что бочку разлили всего при 46%, а не в бочковой крепости. Опытные ревьюеры оценивают напиток заметно выше и последовательнее — 84–89 баллов — прямо признавая его спорность, но ценя редкую самобытность и серно-хересную конструкцию; для любителей необычного это удача. Разброс создают остальные: от восторженных 92 у поклонников «фанкового» стиля до резкого неприятия — 49 и 62, где мутность и серные соединения названы отталкивающими и «не имеющими отношения к виски». Есть и промежуточная критика — горькие, кожистые ноты, недостаток чистоты и баланса. Согласие в описании профиля высокое (сера, херес, солёность, копчёность признаны всеми), расходится лишь оценка: почти все сходятся, что напиток либо нравится, либо категорически нет.

What a dirty broth and by that I mean not only the look but also the aroma ^^ Nose: smells like a sweet fruit punch you drink while a New Year's Eve fireworks are fired around you. Violent Sherry sweetness and sulfur notes. Sea water and a fine oak note can also be found. Very aromatic and own. Taste: very salty (Manzanilla sherry), an incredibly heavy sweetness, wet matchbox ^^, a light pepperiness and some dark chocolate from the oak. In the medium long finish then dominate the sweetness and the oak notes. The sulfur is now more in the background. Very heavy drop. In the past, such a barrel would hardly have been bottled as SC. But today everything is thrown on the market. For people who like their own whiskys like me, that's certainly a stroke of luck. Too bad that the good was filled only with 46%.

I understand why that is controversial. He is always his own! If someone does not like this flavor constellation, then he can only rate it badly. For me, which I like very much, this bottling is more likely to be found among the positive exceptions.

This malt is dominated by an extreme smoked meat or bacon flavor. A fine peat and smoke finish completes the strange mixture. The consistency and taste of this sample is very oily and "greasy". An interesting and delicious drop.

What a sulfur bomb! This is the central character of this Laddies. Wet scorched matchbox covers many other flavors. If you give it time, many small nuances come and also the typical sherry notes come out very fine. In fact, you have to like this kind of sulfur. I find that very interesting. Rarely had such a dull whisky in the glass.

Unusual malt that will certainly split the camps. I like him quite well, explicitly nose. In the finish he could be somewhat stronger despite the 46%, I would have liked a little more fruit in terms of flavor. All in all but a very interesting Bruichladdich, far from the 08/15 bottlings.

Blind tasting: Islay Whisky, Vol: 50%, 16 years. My favorite so far. 92 points. Edit: Haha! because I lie so far above the cut. I think it's awesome, but I generally love funky whiskys

Even before the smell, you notice how murky the whisky is. The smell is disgusting, something else I can not think of. The taste is not better. I tried the whisky because I wanted to know how sulfur compounds taste. Now I know it and I know too: I do not like it. For me, the stuff has nothing to do with whisky and enjoyment, as I understand it.

sloping barrel with a weird combination of flavors. Remembering a Bunna MoS https://www.whiskybase.com/whisky/67430/bunnahabhain-2000-mos wake up, but here at Laddie the balance is still maintained.

BLIND TASTING Tip: He has a few nice notes and a great finish, 85 points. - Ardmore or peated Benriach - 46 to 50% - between 12 and 16 years

Dull, bitter notes, leathery - somehow similar to the PC Maltman / Meadowside who came out in 2015 as well, but he misses the clean notes of Port Charlotte for me. I like laddies in general very much, but with these bitter notes I'm not very clear.

This was an extremely active and unusual sherry keg. Manzanilla or Amontillado. Definitely nothing sweet. Matchbook booklet dissolved in grapefruit juice. Tomato chocolate with Fleur de Sel and brackish Parmesan. It reminds me a lot of the Longrow 16 Manzanilla and even more of the 94er BenRiach of independentspirit.

It's a little bit cold right now. I guess ~19 C° and you can already see the scotch mist. It's a pretty interesting and extraodrinary whisky. I enjoyed the experience, but I certainly wouldn't buy a whole bottle. 81 Points
