В аромате доминирует старый херес в дубе: чернослив, изюм, инжир, сливы, тёмные и лесные ягоды, тёмный шоколад и какао, орехи, мускатный орех и корица, мёд, немного табака, кожи и лёгкой мяты. Вкус маслянистый и сливочный, насыщенный тёмными фруктами, сливовым джемом, лакрицей, кофе и эспрессо, с ощутимой перечной пряностью и мягким, хорошо встроенным дубом; послевкусие долгое, тёплое, с тёмным шоколадом, корицей и слегка терпким деревом, без пересушивания. Крепость чаще считают удачно интегрированной, хотя часть дегустаторов отмечает, что неразбавленным виски бьёт спиртом. Главная общая черта — сдержанность: напиток требует времени, тепла рук и внимания, чтобы раскрыться.
Хвалят прежде всего сложность, баланс, полнотелость и «благородство» хересной выдержки; критикуют неразбавленную резкость спирта, провал сладости в середине вкуса у некоторых образцов и особенно завышенную цену — не раз звучит, что есть сопоставимые по качеству альтернативы вдвое дешевле. Среди опытных согласия нет: оценки идут от 94 и 91 с восторгами о выдающейся многослойности до 85 и 83 с упрёками в мелкости и разочаровании, причём один прямо признаёт, что не входит в целевую аудиторию. Остальные ревьюеры настроены заметно ровнее и позитивнее — плотная группа оценок 90–93 с редкими 85–87, так что разброс среди менее авторитетных авторов меньше, а средний тон выше, чем у верхней четверти.

Undiluted is so strong that drinking is almost a punishment for me. After a few sips, my mouth is totally numb with alcohol. Better with water, but there is no big hit parade. In truth, for me, overall, rather disappointing. Especially when I take the price into account. Given the high rating here, I'm clearly not the target group. Anyway, both the old 15yo Revival and the 18yo amused me a lot more. (Evaluated on a sample basis - three times.)

P- Full nuttiness rising with treacle and citric bitterness. Well mature with depth of herbs, chocolate and caramelized banana. Dusty pepper at the back. Opposed to aroma as that get better after breathing, it headed to a hollow valley of sweetness as it developed on the palate. F- Medium-long, velvet with lasting dark fruit, tartness remains with coat of waxy camphor. Not a sherry bomb as some of their fine vintage cask. The malt has absolutely no junk marks for me. Especially at the beginning he is a bit disappointing because he is so reserved. You want to inhale it, but as much as a Goyne 25 or Glassaugh 30 does not come first. Time and some hand warmth bring much to the fore, but this intensity is not achieved. You have to bring a lot of time to elicit his secrets - he is not "easy to have" that I find again very exciting. The quality is above all doubt - only it is the case with the two competitors at about half the price.

A real gentleman. Wonderfully balanced aromas without any missing notes - an extremely successful sherry barrel maturation. Very complex and exciting, there is a lot to discover - but it takes a lot of time and attention. However, I would not buy it at the called price, because there are comparably good, significantly cheaper alternatives.

An excellent malt with a somewhat reserved nose. It wants to be enjoyed with time and needs it too. If you give it to him, you won't be disappointed. Very complex and the alcohol is wonderfully integrated. I like it very much.

oh Boy! that is some Sherry influence. the nose is gentle at first but after some time this is getting better. There is lots of dark fruits, oranges, red berries, some marzipan, Grapes. after a while some ginger and white pepper kick in and spice it up. the oak is present but gentle and very well integrated. the ABV is all right, some drops of water do no harm. Really nice sherry malt!
