В аромате доминируют благородные хересные ноты — тёмные ягоды, чернослив, изюм, инжир, финики, вишня — вместе со старой кожей, сигарным табаком в хьюмидоре, тёмным шоколадом, дубом и характерным для Bowmore минерально-кварцевым дымом; у нескольких авторов проскакивают тропические оттенки (гуава, папайя, манго), отсылающие к легендарным Bowmore 1960–70-х, и цветочно-фруктовые тона (кровавый апельсин, марципан, красные ягоды). Вкус насыщенный, сладко-пряный, маслянисто-сиропной плотности: тёмный херес и джем из чернослива, орехи, гвоздика, лакрица, кожа, табак, тёмный шоколад с землистым торфом и лёгким дымом. Послевкусие долгое, тёплое, на жжёном дубе, специях, перце, коже, сушёных фруктах и торфяном дыме, у некоторых с солоноватым морским оттенком.
Опытные ревьюеры почти единодушны: для них это эталон хересного Bowmore, где характер винокурни не потоплен бочкой, а соединён с лучшим от хереса; оценки 90–95, вершина — 95 за совершенство и редкую по выразительности кожано-древесно-дымную сложность. Расхождения невелики и касаются в основном послевкусия — один опытный автор отметил жестковатую концовку (спишет на проветривание бутылки), другие среди менее авторитетных считали вкус проще и беднее аромата, ждали большей насыщенности или более длинного послевкусия; отдельные заниженные оценки (88) связывают с парфюмерными нотами. В целом оценки очень согласованы (в основном 91–92) и почти не зависят от опыта: и авторитетные, и рядовые сходятся, что это один из лучших выпусков серии Timeless и, по мнению многих, лучший Bowmore, что они пробовали, с оговоркой лишь о высокой цене.

Very classy Bowmore. The age is noticeable. An incredible red color. 91-100 – Whisky heaven, best stuff

For me, Bowmore from a sherry cask is perfection. What could possibly be more amazing? A wonderfully complex, exciting and diverse flavor profile, top alcohol strength, and refined aromas of sherry wood and leather/tobacco. Plus, delicate notes of typical Bowmore smoke. Everything as it should be. A dream!

Excellent Bowmore, very sherried. Only the finish is a bit harsh, but aeration of the bottle will probably help.

This is exactly what a Sherry Bowmore should be like. Fruity, sweet, and creamy on the nose, but with a dirty, smoky finish. Here, the distillery's character wasn't drowned in any old barrels, but rather the best of both worlds was combined. Why not always this way?

After drinking it, the 27-year-old is undoubtedly the best of the Timeless series. Compared to the 29-year-old, I feel that the 27-year-old is more complex and delicate, with a richer flavor. As for the 31-year-old and 33-year-old, they are simply rubbish compared to the 27-year-old, and I don't know what the Matusalem cask is trying to say. It turns out that Shirley Bowmore has to be Oloroso. 27＞29＞＞31＞33

The initial guava note is truly surprising, but as the wine progresses, the dark fruit aromas become more pronounced, a truly magical experience. This is the best Bowmore I have had the pleasure of trying. It has melded the flavors so very well. It’s price is something to be discussed on the other hand…. Somewhat simple, but some very what delicious.

It feels like the kind of whisky that belongs in a fine dining restaurant. Nutmeg-like spice supports the aroma with remarkable precision, while sherried notes of Christmas cake and toffee are beautifully integrated. Subtle hints of apple mango and floral tones also emerge in the background. |

The sheer weight and density are on another level. The texture coats the palate like syrup, carrying the lingering depth of a beautifully matured sherry whisky. Calling this merely a “sherry bomb” feels insufficient — it exists on an entirely different tier. It begins with rich grape jam and evolves into an almost syrup-like concentration of sweetness. Peaty notes of straw, smoke, and coal aren’t overpowering, but they leave a very clear impression. Layered above the dense sherry core are notes of blackberry, rose, mango, and fig, giving the whisky even more individuality and complexity. |

This one's like luxuriating in an uber comfortable leather couch, smoking a great pipe laced with aniseed while in a fancy study full of old books. Notes of cola, hickory, leather couch, tobacco and tobacco smoke with a hint of aniseed, coffee beans, rich rich rich treacle, mint, wet oak, and late late late in the finish, sliced green apples and bubble gum make cameo appearances. This is like a "best of Bowmore". I wish this weren't so pricey as I want one... or a case... :(

Outstanding Sherry Bowmore
Perfectly balanced smoke, tropical and dark fruit. Woudl score higher if the finish was longer

Truly complex and shifting nose. Overripe tropicality meshes with gentlemen's library (dark wood paneling, old leather-bound books, cured tobacco), coffee beans and dark chocolate, beef broth, refined quartzy Bowmore smoke, Sarsparilla, Oloroso dried fruits (prune) Alcohol is a bit strong, some drops of water smoothen it in a good way. It's rich and complex, not quite as much as the nose, but there's smoke, roasty-chocolaty notes, very dark fruit, burnt brown sugar, a bit of ocean spray. Sweet and dark notes linger on. I should like this even better, considering the style, but that certain "je ne sai quoi" that turns superb into sublime evades me today.

Full of fruits, especially berries, with some violet. More like a common modern Bowmore than I thought. Full bodied, floral, sticky berry juice, and some citrus. Peat is quite dominant and some yogurt at the end.
Coffee, tart berries, mint soda, cherry marmalade, cigar leaf, Sicilian blood orange, guava. Excellent!

Bowmore 27YO Timeless Series, 52.7%. Color: amber; smell: there is a hint of violet floral scent and soap after opening, then disappears. Mainly interesting cocoa powder, nectar, dried apricots, dried figs, raisins, some good old leather box, there is a touch of fruit pomo in the 60s, but the alcohol is still more obvious, 92 points; taste: rich chocolate Cocoa, raisins, dried figs, accompanied by rich but not intense spices, feels very good, a trace of sea salt, 92 points; aftertaste: medium long, spice, salted prune, etc., 92 points; time: 2021.11.20
