Утончённый Bunnahabhain из повторно залитой бочки, где раскрывается сам дистиллят: свежие фрукты, цитрус, мята, мёд и лёгкая солёность при сдержанной древесине. Оценки согласованны около 90; опытные хвалят чистый фруктово-имбирный профиль, разброс невелик.

В аромате доминируют свежие фрукты — яблоко, виноград, личи, дыня, цитрус (апельсин), — дополненные мятой, скошенной травой, ванилью, карамелью, мёдом и слабой минерально-солёной, почти морской нотой; торфа нет, дыма едва заметный намёк. Опытные ревьюеры отмечают деликатный фруктово-имбирный нос и очищенный, «бурбонный» характер. Во вкусе мягкая сладость сочетается с пряностью (белый перец, имбирь), маслянистой солоноватостью и цитрусом, поверх которых проступают древесина, дуб и лёгкая горчинка; тело среднее, спирт хорошо интегрирован. Послевкусие обычно среднее по длине — перец, лакрица, древесные ноты и мягко затухающая сладость.
Хвалят прежде всего гармоничность и то, что сдержанная, повторно залитая бочка за три десятилетия лишь смягчила грани, дав дистилляту звучать самостоятельно; отдельно выделяют богатый, «сокровищный» нос. Критика касается умеренной интенсивности и коротковатого послевкусия, начальной горчинки и терпкости у части образцов. Расхождения между опытными и остальными невелики: опытные ставят 90–91 и подчёркивают трудноуловимый имбирный профиль, тогда как у прочих разброс шире — от 86 (айвовый, резковатый) до 93 (сложный, с тропическими фруктами и морскими нотами), но общая согласованность высокая, консенсус держится в районе 89–91.

It is of medium viscosity and its bouquet is of moderate intensity. I have aromas of mint, tropical fruits, vanilla, caramel, slightly maritime notes and citrus fruit. A complex malt. Relatively sweet in taste. The alcohol is very well integrated and it has a medium body.
