В аромате деликатный торфяной дым, ирис, марципан, ваниль и мёд, оттенки цитруса и пряностей — корицы, гвоздики, перца; у отдельных авторов проступают ноты кофе и мокко. Во вкусе мягкая пряность и перечность сочетаются со сладостью мёда, марципана и лёгкими хересными оттенками, но текстура многим кажется тонкой и водянистой, с дубом и слабой горчинкой; послевкусие среднее, с имбирём, тёмным шоколадом, ванилью и лёгким дымком. Хвалят за округлость, честность и соотношение цены и качества, а также за роль щадящего знакомства с торфом без островной мощи Islay; критикуют за двумерность, искусственность, разбавленность и добавленную карамель, отмечая, что прежняя версия была лучше. Опытные ревьюеры держатся в диапазоне 79–85 и в целом сходятся с остальными, расхваливая баланс при умеренных ожиданиях; заметно выбивается лишь одна низкая оценка (74) с описанием выхлопных газов и жжёной резины. Прочие оценки плотно сгруппированы в районе 80–84, так что согласованность высокая, а серьёзных расхождений между авторитетными и рядовыми авторами нет.

If you are afraid of these 'peat monsters' from Islay, this robust single malt could be something for you: Isle of Jura Superstition is advertised as 'lightly peated' whisky. Unfortunately, it bears no age statement, although the 43% ABV definitely help to bring out the flavor of this rather young malt. On the nose, you can find delicate peat smoke, toffee and hints of marzipan. The taste is mildly spicy and peppery, and yet sweet with honey and cinnamon. Overall, it's quite a two-dimensional and artificial Island whisky - but with a decent roundness and complexity. RATING: 3.5/5.0 stars ≙ 83 pts → ABOVE AVERAGE

N- Whiff of exhaust fume, follow by lasting burnt rubber aroma. Layers of dark fruits and warm pancake. P- Dominant wood, new book. Light texture, spirity. Lime peel and wee of sweet lingers, lack balance. F- Medium, smokes arises and throat heating. — at The Whisky Bar, Kuala Lumpur.

Нос 82 Light peaty scent followed by vanilla, honey and marzipan. A touch of citrus is what I smell next. After those sweet scents I smell the spicy tones of cloves and cinnamon. At the end also a tiny bit of peat smoke.
Вкус 84 Light peat in the mouth is how this all starts. And again the sweet tones of marzipan and honey. This is complemented by tones of sweet spices. Some coffee comes by and finishes with nuts and heather.
Финиш 81 Medium-long. A light taste of ginger complemented by sweet honey.

A very easy but pleasant smoked Jura with some sweet (sherry) notes. Concerning price/performance ratio: 7/10

A Jura less sweet than the 10 years old or the 16 years old Diurach'own's. Rather well done but a little too diluted and added caramel.

Dry hey, dried fruits, spices, oak cask, sweet fruits, grass, green apples, a little bit creosote notes on nose. A little bit creosote, spices, dry hay, dried fruits, dryness, honey notes on palate. Middle finish with spices, vanilla, green apples, light creosote, dryness notes.

This is a very interesting whisky, among my favourites just because of the peculiar taste bouquet.

Nose: Smoke, Lemon, Oaky vanilins. Some earthy notes and cardboard. Nice easy nose Taste: Watery arrival, very thin. Sweet, citrus, artificial sweetner. Not al lot going on here. Finish: easy finish, very mild. slightly bitter oak, with very little smoke. Could drink this for breakfast, it's so light ;)

RATING: 83pts – |83 – 86 (B) → Good| — Not a “must”, but a nice-to-have.
Нос 85 The nose is lightly peated and neat with a profile of smoked citrus fruits and pepperoni pizza along with light peat.
Вкус 82 The taste is tannic and slightly sour with notes of burnt dried fruits, herbs, bread crust followed by caramel and salt.
Финиш 81 The finish is medium lenght and feels pretty simple with nuances of sweet malt and light peatiness.

Even though the distillery is not one of the most popular, it is a decent, slightly smoky malt with a good bite. There are much, much worse things.
Нос 82 Mild smoky notes, more like campfire medicinal, a few lemons and limes. Behind that sweet vanilla and a subtle spice, freshly sawn oak
Вкус 85 Sweet start, then strong spices, white pepper, some bitter cocoa, espresso, the oak is there again too. Behind it a slight acidity like in some coffees
Финиш 85 Sweet, ginger, dark milk chocolate, cake spice Rather medium length

It is very nice that the coffee and mocha aromas develop so intensely on the nose. The palate is surprisingly long-lasting. Not unpleasant.

It's very reminiscent of grappa, Adding water improves the aroma, but unfortunately the taste becomes very bland.
