It's a bit disappointing

I had the 15 Singleton of Dufftown in the glass, but unfortunately without seeing the bottling date or the bottle code. In any case, it must have been a very good batch, because I remembered the whisky really positively, despite its rather modest key data. It will definitely be tried again at some point in order to confirm or reject the first impression.

Green apple, vanilla, honey. Fruity, creamy, a little bitter, light. Very short finish, fruit and cream. Very fruity Spencer, very clean. Not very intense.

The fruits are more pronounced, even spicy, blood orange, clementine, melon, lemon and grapefruit juice, juicy apples and pears, white grapes, prickly pears. Creamy vanilla in the background, with some floral touches. The palate is still very clear, but a little less than with the 12 year old, still fruity, slightly honeyed, biscuity, with very light spices. The finish is correct without being really remarkable, barely long, light but a little punchy, toasted wood, cereals, egg custard, brown sugar and sponge cake. Almonds. Not really complex, rather fruity, light and easy drinkable, starts very good on the nose, but cannot catch up on the palate and in the finish - unbelievable that this should be 15yo - I would give probably 5yo and heavily diluted to 40%

Aroma: Fruity, fresh orange, citrus peel, pears, honey, apples, honey breakfast cereal, cinnamon, some dried fruits Taste: Clearly fruity, citrus fruits, orange, lemon, apples, pears, lots of honey, a hint of vanilla, the finish is medium long, honey-fruity, smooth and gently fading Overall Impression: A decent whisky, clearly fruity, however it lacks some complexity and depth expected from a 15 year old whisky

H2H Dufftown OB 12 year 40% 2017 (old livery) - 108571 -83/86/85 15 year 40% latest version - 165382 - 84/83/80 18 year 40% latest version - 176121 - 84/84/81 Trinite Nas 40% travel retail - 42191 - 83/84/83 None of these will set your world on fire, I think the 12 year tastes better than the 15 or 18 but not sure what the latest 12 year tastes like called lucious nectar? If these were bottles at 46% they would be much better for it

The promising aroma has slightly given up in taste and has completely "fell into a hole" in the aftertaste. 21 20 19 19

Fruit, sultanas, malt, a little sherry cask, very pleasant aromas. Creamy, bittersweet, a little leathery, citrus. Medium finish. Very full of flavour, more pronounced leather and creaminess. Slightly lower in strength, good to drink.

Fruit, vanilla, wood, nuts, mild.

Nice fruity whisky

I was expecting this to be better than the old 12 WB id 108571 but it isn`t.

Kyiv Whisky Festival 2024 According to bottle code 2023 bottle: 21 20+ 20 20+ 82 Spicy summer whisky that is quite drinkable!

The nose no longer contains the sharp undertone from the 12yo, but the palette is just as lacking.

Was surprised by the spiciness of this whisky, and it's not the abv, it's from the oak. It's hugely different from it's 12yo sibiling. This is much more challenging. I could detect a decent amount of European oak used. It was quite intense despite the low 40% abv, they compensated the low abv with more intense casks. Another good value dram from the singleton of dufftown

13/04/2025 79.5 / 100 AROMA - 19.5 / 25 Sweet and slightly dessert-like, with notes of ripening pears, flowers, sweet orange juice, peach, and honey, along with a touch of honey and wood. Pleasant, but with a slight alcoholic note. It's not much better than the 12-year-old version. TASTE - 21.5 / 25 Slightly grainy, slightly salty and sweet, with hay and tobacco, a touch of wood, cornflakes, and dry walnuts, along with dry apples and pears. It's pleasant, and the alcohol fades rather quickly. A straightforward whisky with the alcohol well-hidden. FINISH - 18.5 / 25 Medium-long finish, malty/woody with subtle notes of caramel, honey, and charred wood. Simple but pleasant and well-balanced. BALANCE - 20 / 25 Much better than the 12th edition. It has a certain intensity and structure. You can't expect miracles here, but it delivers what you pay for and can easily be a better, more casual alternative to the 12th edition.

Smells lovely. Taste is okay, not too strong in flavour bit metallic but also immensly sweet. The finish is quite strong and long to me. Overall a pretty good one, not the best at this price point and year by far.

81–83: "Better than nothing..." - [acceptable 3] Floral, fresh fruits like yellow apples, alkoholic, suprisingly drinkable but nothing special.

Inoffensive and therefore not very exciting.

Overall, I can say it didn't feel like a typical 15-year-old whisky. While the aroma was a bit stronger, it wasn't particularly appealing otherwise. Despite its 40% alcohol content, it can leave a harsher taste on the palate. It might have fallen short of my expectations for its age, but considering the price, it's much more affordable than similar brands. In that respect, it's a decent price-performance whisky.

Honey, apple, vanilla, citric, spicy, fruity. Light, watery, lively, unbalanced and reserved.

In the Singleton line, this one seemed more interesting to me.

Honey, dark dried fruit, dark chocolate, and the spicy aroma of aged Guangdong Sihui tangerine peel.

Totally overpowered by the added (large) amount of 'zuckerkolor', which makes the whole thing a bit rancid for me. Salted caramel in a whisky? Really can't imagine a 15 year old whisky - however bad - could taste any worse without the coloring! So really only needed for the color.....? The first single malt in my life, which I didn't drink and empty the glass. Bah!

Decent 15yo, quite long, quite noble, bit too watery. I would buy it but not my favourite 15
