The 10 is not my favorite Laphroaig, but I found this batch very exciting. For me, cask strength often means that I dilute something, otherwise the alcoholic strength/spiciness determines the taste too much.

Fresh anise, Fisherman's Friend, seaweed, sea salt, chocolate brownies with chocolate frosting, chocolate ice cream, and an ambulance on fire. The previous edition was more complex, but this one has a nice dark rich elegance that, overall, makes it on par with edition #13. Great as usual.
Review- Laphroaig 10 CS Batch 14 —————————————————————————— Distiller: Laphroaig(OB) Age Statement: 10 years Abv: 58.6% Price: The bottle retails at around £75 ($95 USD) —————————————————————————— ~Nose: This whisky greets you with a coastal allure, leading the way with a prominent peat presence. While it's not overly smoky, the yeasty and classic medicinal notes are complemented by a rounded touch. Additionally, a funky dank moss aroma mingles with the fragrant essence of floral Earl Grey tea. ~Palate: The peat takes center stage, accompanied by a pronounced oak influence. In terms of sweetness, this expression leans towards a drier profile. It can be best described as an elevated version of the Quarter cask, with a higher proof and a subtle sprinkle of rye spice. Rather than being heavily smoky, it focuses more on coastal and brine flavors. You may even detect a faint hint of apple. Notably, it offers a bold and palate-coating experience. ~Finish: The finish is long, albeit slightly dry. It leaves behind lingering notes of ash and oak. Conclusion: While not my personal favorite among the 10 cask strengths I've had the pleasure of sampling, this whisky still upholds its reputation for quality. Its drier and spiced characteristics differ from the dark, sweet BBQ and stewed fruit notes I typically enjoy. Nevertheless, it remains a commendable pour for any peat lover! I just so happen to enjoy other versions more. A Laphi as you imagine it. Rough, wild and harsh. He outshines the normal 10-year-old by far. The interplay of sweetness, smoke and sea makes it very interesting. Powerful, but never brute. He doesn't want to be a gentleman like the 16er. But he is remembered. Smoked bacon with a light honey sweetness and smoldering oak shavings lingers in your mouth for a long time while your thoughts are sorted.

Drinking compared to the same 10 cs batch 11: there is not much difference, but a little simpler and sweeter
nose: maritime woody, medicinal, vanilla, vegetal, spicy, lemony with cooked zest a concentrate of all this mixed stuffy: quite singular with sweet caramel, almond bitterness, fortunately the peat levels it all out a bit we are between the bottom of a boat's hold filled with fish and wooden fish boxes and the alley of a barn with wet hay, finally used the caramel, yes there is and not only for the color, gives a sweet return, on the burnt juices of a barbecue, the vegetal side on dried and sweet seaweed, yes an amazing mix mixes with candied orange fruits final: medium to long but monolithic on the zan, candied seaweed, oily peat, peppery spices, on burnt and toasted caramel.

Nose. Golden syrup, sweet honey. peaty, ham, smoked bacon, salty sea spray & seaweed. Taste Sweet honey, caramel, vanilla. This gives way to a wave of sea salt, the peat coming through too. Some fruityness too, peach, and some sweet orange. After Really long and deep. That smoke lingers and that honey sweetness running through it that just sings. Ends with coffee and milk. Compared to those I have tried before. This one raises the bar. Sweeter and more complex. Absolute banger. 93 points from me.

Nails. We chew scrap metal, in the middle of car wrecks. And now the peat is rising. It's a tidal wave that carries us away. And instead of drowning, we find ourselves in the cool, on the beach, lulled by a gentle sea breeze and iodized. Dried fruits, prunes, apricots, banana. Dirty and charcoal peat. Soot, motor oil, diesel oil. Shards of rusty metal. Saline net. Light medicinal touch. Mouth very saline at first, then fruity, juicy pear, finally the spices rise, pepper, nutmeg and ginger. Ether, drug solution. Fairly long finish and still very medicinal, earthy, smoky, bandages, mercurochrome, chlorine, disinfectant. In the end it turns into salt crystals, sea water, enamel, wet sand. Shaving cream. It's nice to get back to basics. It's been too long since I got lost in the recent Sherry bottlings, I had forgotten what a Laphie aged in a good old Bourbon cask was like. https://ilikesky2020.blogspot.com/2022/02/laphroaig-10-yo-cask-strength-batch-014.html

[March, 2022] Another taste of a new Laphroaig cask strength batch. Until batch 012 they all were of remarkable high quality which I scored 90+points and without adding caramel colouring to it. This changed with batch 013 and it seems to continue with this batch 014 (according to the label declaration in Germany)... ...yep, it does. In older batches the dark colour was created through adding a significant number of sherry casks to the cask strength batches which lead to a flabbergasting high flavour's complexity. From batch 013 onward they changed this recipe to a (much) lower share of sherry casks - if any at all - and create the dark colour using loads of caramel instead, resulting in a rather boring profile (compared to the older batches). And they added more virgin oak-alike casks (de-charred/re-charred technique) which turn these cask strength releases' profiles very close to the rest of the modern "hit-and-run" Laphroaig editions portfolio. Good, if you love the spiked and easy-to-grasp new Laphroaig taste (which obviously a lot of people do, looking at all the high scores here at WB). But these are bad news to all who prefer the older, more sophisticated Laphroaig profile (which made Laphroaig famous, by the way). I belong to the latter connoisseurs that is why now I turn away from buying any new Laphroaig bottlings at all - the cask strength was the last out of their portfolio I really liked (up to batch 012). Sorry Laphroaig, but you lost a decade-long loyal customer...

The colour is deep copper but this is irrelevant because they used loads of caramel to adjust it (which they did not do for older cask strength batches). In Germany the use of colourants has to be stated on the label which they did ("Mit Farbstoff") and despite all of the labels are written completely in English they used the German words here to not bother customers in the rest of the world (aren't they nice?). So always look out for "Farbstoff" which is the German word for "colourant", but sometimes they use "Zuckercouleur" instead which simply means caramel. What else to say about this nose? I did not find any single trace of any sherry-induced aroma and the malt's aromas profile is rather boring for a Laphroaig, to be honest. Still this is better than many other drams but it is miles away from the glorious Laphroaig profile of the past. But if you are in whisky for rather simple yet impressive drams you will like this for sure - this nose requires no intellectual efforts, just take a single sniff and you will know all about it. |

The taste is very simple and extremely sweet, most probably because of the vast amount of caramel added to colour this dram. There are some shy hints of sherry flavours here but I am not absolutely sure about these impressions. This could be a side effect of caramel and heavily charred casks too. Still the heavy peat and the basic Laphroaig malt's profile is pretty nice but I miss almost all of the complexity of previous batches. Even after longer chewing there are no new impressions popping up, all is there with the first sip already. Actually, I find the rather strong sweet caramel note increasingly disturbing the more I sip this dram. This taste is both easy to quaff and easy to forget, sorry folks. |

The dram arrives warming with a limited coating effect (compared to older batches) on my palate without distracting moments. The finish accordingly is of a medium length only, again rather disappointing for a Laphroaig cask strength release. It does not add any new impressions but the sweet caramel flavour stays until the very end. Do you like caramel in whisky? I do not, and I do not like any added sugars or vanilla in rum editions either. If you own a very sweet tooth you may like it, but always remember: This is a very cheap and stupid way of sweetening drinks. Some water turns the nose more punchy and release more peat aromas, but still no sherry. The taste turns punchy too without releasing new impressions. A bigger splash does not change a lot, so I prefer the neat dram. |

Laphroaig 10 year old Cask Strength, Batch 14. 70cl bottle. First 35ml dram rated April 2022. Mid-tone amber. Much has been said about Beam Suntory adding e150a to these whiskies. I’d really, really rather they didn’t do it. It sucks all the magic out of whisky. Why would you create this more authentic expression and then mess around with it in a way that makes it seem adulterated and inauthentic? Surely this sort of whisky is marketed at people who are conscious of and averse to the use of caramel? Sigh. Anyway... Aroma is milky oak, touch of clove, some antiseptic, just a hint of charred white meat. A little more muted than would be ideal - sometimes I wonder if the use of e150a kills aroma a bit. Gets a touch soapy later on. Body is light oily. Taste is better than the aroma, certainly. Mmm... sorry I lost myself there. Significantly richer than the previous couple of CS bottlings. Surprisingly empty on the palate to start – it’s a “back-loaded” dram. There’s a deep ‘sweet’ oaky intensity in the middle of the palate that endures throughout, a hint of oily rag and moving towards hammy, breathy, mechanical smoke, clove, hints of copper and rust. Opens up massively along the way, leading to a crescendo of smoke and sweet medicinal goodness. Drinks great at the ABV and I wouldn’t want to dilute it. So, it's full of e150a. The aroma is underwhelming. The initial flavour is a bit empty. So why the big score? Well, the taste opens up into a flavour profile I really, really enjoy. If this had a complex and pleasant aroma to match, this would be right up there with the best Laphroaig bottlings I’ve tried. Who knows, maybe a little time in the bottle will open it up. Even as it is, it’s not far off. Yum. 4.05/96
Big leap from standard 10, it seems to me the most medicinal of standard 10, Lore and Quarter Cask. Good, for heaven's sake, but always a little too cut with a hatchet. Very much in line with batches 9 and 10. I prefer it on the nose than on the palate.

Unapologetic medicinal Laphroaig. I really feel this is the way Laphroaig is meant to be experienced. That is, largely exbourbon with no sherry or wine caskings (e.g. Cairdeas offerings) to obstruct from enjoying the real essence of this distillate. Top notch Islay malt.

Dry, salty smoke, with a mix of white and black pepper, quite long finish, with a slight bitterness at the end. With water, a little sweetness emerge. I'm a Laphroaig fan. And this cask str. #14 is amazing. I purchased a bottle a few months ago. Upon opening the flask I was a bit disappointed; all scents and tastes felt rather heavy. The bouquet was a bit sharp. But now, a couple of months later, with some oxygen, this bottle has turned into a precious gem. Very complex, very clever, and a beautiful balance. Wauw. I followed the notes on the back of the box too; adding a rather large amount of water (2/1). And I have to admit: different drinking experience for sure, less oily, less heavy. But the experience was great. Although watered down, the whisky is still very layered and clever. Different tastes, more diesel-like. More mossy. But wauw. Loving both combinations: neat and with surplus water :-)

90 or 91 hard to tell. Leaning towards 91 because i really like this one though it's not as shouty and sparkly as some others. Would need to verify with earlier version scores. Note to self. Definitely good, seems like a very balanced batch. Not too crazy on the nose - seaweed, iodine, bandaid, smoke, vanille,... beautiful on the tongue, great long lasting finish. Benchmark stuff this Laphroaig 10 batch 14. Sometimes on the finish it can be a bit bitter, so maybe it's a 90pts after all...

In 1 test session Batch 3, Batch 14 and Batch 17. All three whiskies have the same clear yellow/gold color. With all three whiskies, a considerable amount of whisky lingers on the glass. Thick waves, but also thick, slowly dripping tears. Do you like smoky whiskies and have never tried the 10 cs? DO IT! If it's too strong, you can always reduce the ABV to your desired strength. They are three completely different whiskies. I've seen batch 17 mentioned several times as having an old-school profile, and I certainly can't confirm this compared to batch 3. Everything you expect to get from the aroma of batch 14 is precisely what you don't get. The aroma is quite subdued, while the taste and finish are truly intense!

When I received it poured from a freshly opened bottle more than 3 years ago, it seemed almost smokeless and not much in terms of taste. I had more or less the same impression recently from the first pour of the sample I received at that time. Subsequent tastings were better. All in all, slightly mixed impressions and therefore a relatively low rating.

Nose The nose starts with an extremely powerful phenolic smoke, which resembles tar and medical solutions like iodine, accompanied by a sweet minerality and a salty sea breeze, and the expression of soaked coals, toasted charred wood, and smoked bacon, followed by some light wood, spices, and citrus. With a little water added, the phenolic smoke becomes soft and sweet, and even evokes some leather and dried fruit that are not commonly found in bourbon barrels. Palate Classic Laphroaig smoke and peat that are clear and intense, with sweet caramel and sea salt, some industrial feel of fuel in lighters, accompanied by smoked bacon and charred wood. With a little water added, it evokes a light sourness, vanilla, citrus, and a hint of light woody bitterness. Finish Long; clear phenolic smoke still lingers on the tongue, the palate's light bitterness quickly fades to a gradually presented fresh and slightly sweet, then a touch of honey, soot, and earth.

blind tasting Smoke. Heavy and oily. Reluctant at first, it keeps opening up in the glass over time. I'm definitely on Islay, but I'm still hesitating between Caol Ila and Laphroaig. Noticeably strong alcohol, but which fits well into the overall structure of smoke and spiciness. Behind the smoke are nice caramel notes. Creme brulee. It hits the tongue powerfully. What power! Now I am 100% with Laphroaig. I'll go even further and say this is the 10yo CS. A unique profile for me. Spicy. Violent. But at the same time smooth, creamy. Neat smoke. Neat wood. Subtle sweetness. Lots of spice. Simply successful. Denouement: bingo. It's the CS. Batch 14. In any case, a very, very successful bottling. Apparently that miserable batch of 15 I had last time in the glass was just a slip. That was catastrophic. But I like this one a lot.
нос 89 · вкус 90 · финиш 89
In terms of its basic character, it's exactly my thing, but I lack the balance and complexity to give it a top rating. Rather simple, daily dram. Notes from a blind tasting. I had already thought that it was a Laphi 10 CS, but that is a rather weak batch. Not good in balance, too straightforward, not delicate and complex enough. It's a shame, but the fantastic batches of single-digit numbers probably won't come back. This is still a great malt with an excellent price/performance ratio, but no longer an exceptional malt. Addendum To briefly address the tiresome caramel debate: No, the 10 CS has never contained sherry casks, no, I can't find any indication of coloring on the bottle, no, caramel (E150a) is not caramel and therefore not sweet either is completely tasteless and therefore, even if it were added, would have no influence on the taste of the whisky.

Immediately after pouring, the coal oven is right in the room. After a few moments, dark peat sweetness appears, shortly afterwards it becomes increasingly phenolic and sulphured peaches can now also be found. Yummy! Put the lid on and see what happens. After half an hour of standing, the aromas are beautifully interwoven, but isolating individual notes is now rather difficult. However, the peaches seem a little fresher now, the smoke more sooty, partly chemical/medicinal. There are also maritime and mineral notes. In general, the whole thing is now shifting towards dry, away from sweet and fruity, towards mineral maritime. When warmed it becomes even drier and more phenolic, there is a lot of disinfectant, the alcohol bites your nose. |

Laphroaig is certainly the outstanding Islay whisky. At some point you have to decide whether to stick with Glenfiddich or go a step further. That is Laphroaig, rough and smoky. And of course you feel great and daring because the gauze aroma always reminds you of musty hospitals. That's all nonsense, of course. After drinking a lot of whiskies you learn that the 40% Laphroaig is nothing more than a smooth, colored and chill-filtered product for the supermarket. The Cask Strength can perhaps reawaken the old fascination. After all, it is cask strength, so you don't have to chill filter it. But then the shock - the Lurke is colored! Despicable, which is why it is justified to despise the whisky companies. glen-efze.de

.6% vol. is a statement - but this is where the quality of this whisky comes into play. The alcohol doesn't burn and isn't disturbing. Of course, water is recommended, but the aromas develop without it. The strong vanilla cream can come through, there is a nice sweetness that doesn't become sticky due to the dry smoke. The smoke is clearly phenolic, but the creaminess also makes it delicious. |

I'll spare you the fourth time listing the distillery character - you won't be surprised that this is also dominant again. But also in the taste no fruitiness and sweetness as in #13. Fewer tannins than I would have expected on the nose - still a slightly bitter/dry note, but not uncomfortably bitter. The elegance from the first impression runs through and it looks a little older and more settled, even if both are of the same age. Ham, dark honey, chocolate... it just offers a little more complexity and flavors. Here the 13 remains one-dimensional. After a very good batch of 12, this one comes pretty close, although it doesn't overtake it for me. |

I remember my mate pulling a plastic glove from the kiln when we visited Laphroaig distillery. A big bluey green one. They must have burned a few pairs for batch 14. Worst CS yet. They even added E150 to try and make something of it. If it's bourbon matured without much colour, fine. Ardbeg get away with it. But why add E150? Too much focus on the distillery profile which spoils the whisky. There's a reason this one's still widely available. Visiting Islay in May and skipping Laphroaig. Shame.

This Laphroaig is very sweet on the nose and the classic peat smoke initially decreases significantly over time. Through my experienced whisky friend, however, I have learned over the past few months how to recognize a beautiful old-school Islay. This one isn't one. It lacks that subtle sweetness that develops from the peat of older casks, and it also lacks the oiliness, which is much more common in Batch 11. This is still a nicely balanced and clean whisky, almost 88 points on the nose confirm that. The alcohol is very, very well integrated. Compared to the Batch 11, this one is simply too simple, without an aha effect. But it is still worth the 80 euros and I also find aspects of enjoyment here. With water it just gets smoky. |

Solid. Very solid. It dumps a much older feel into the experience, with highlights of leather and medicine. A lot of leather.... I feel like it's a 10 that was made in a dark cellar for much longer. The strength is noticeable, but more so in effects which is impressive onto itself. I've seen people say they choose this over the 22 cairdeas, which has become one of my favorite whiskies of all time... Batch 16 is much different than wharehouse 1. The craft is undeniable, but the magic of the 22/23 Cairdeas is not there. I like it. I like it a lot. It's very similar to the 10 with super highlights and less peat. I'm going with warehouse one 10/10. It's such a bright and true Laphroaig experience. This a piece of the distillery in my opinion... The 10 highlighted in some areas and dimmed in others... For me this is more than just a drop of bitterness and for these great whiskys completely superfluous and pointless. If the color of the whisky in this class is no longer caused by the barrel aging but by an additive, that is a strong argument for me not to buy the whisky anymore.

It has an oily viscosity and a high-intensity bouquet. I have aromas of intense, maritime peat smoke, smoked bacon, honey sweetness, vanilla, pipe tobacco and spicy oak. Moderately complex. A good balance between sweetness and dryness in terms of taste. The alcohol is relatively well integrated and it has a heavy body.
I love CS Laph) A perfect mix of sweet, smoky and savory flavors

One of those bottles that leave me kind of speechless. It is so absurdly delicious that it feels almost disrespectful to try to describe it. It feels like you should intellectually engage with a dram only when there’s at least something that doesn’t quite click, an aspect that collides with the rest of the profile, or a configuration of notes that requires some conceptualization for it to truly work. But this is not the case: it is perfect as it is, so thinking about it or trying to rationalize it, instead of simply enjoying it, actually requires effort. That’s how much Laphroaig seems made for me. I adore it, which will not be surprising if you know my favorite kind of whisky (heavily peated, cask strength, ex-bourbon, etc.). The good thing about being predictable is that it’s easy to set yourself up for a truly memorable experience. Which is exactly what I need in my life right now, as I take care of my sick mom. Aroma: Coastal, sweet, peated, salty, organic, toasted, herbal. Strong, rich, creamy, and sweet vanilla up front, followed by sea breeze, old tarry ropes, iodine-forward and organic peat, salty sun-coated seaweed, and tropical fruits (pineapple, apple, mango). If we keep exploring, we discover toasted nuances (a mix of caramel, brown sugar, and bonfire) some herbal touches like mint and juniper, some autumnal notes such as roasted chestnuts, rainy days, wet soil, and damp leather clothes, as well as hints of compost and farmyard aromas. Taste: Maritime, industrial, sweet, organic, salty, sweet, spicy. An amazing mix of coastal notes (grilled seafood and miso soup) intertwined with sweet vanilla and caramel, all of it covered with those typical medicinal notes from Laphroaig. Intense grilled pineapple, boiled mango, toasted rosemary, and the atmosphere of an old harbor, with its salt-oxidized machinery and ropes rotting under the waves. Many nuances appear: astringent olive oil, sweet rubber (?), organic matter, roasted lamb, diesel, vinegar. Seawater-like astringency. Finish: Like drinking warm seawater by accident. Then, an old seaside hospital, burnt caramel, summery forest, ashy bonfire, heavily burnt crème brûlée / crema catalana, banana flambé, industrial nuances and chili. Another straight-up mind-blowing whisky from Laphroaig. Only God knows how they manage to release such a variety of near-divine bottlings seemingly effortlessly (I recently opened a bottle of their Lore 48%, and I’m in awe of that one too). This Batch 14 is a refined take on their 10 CS profile, with much more vanilla and fruit and a touch less peat—very similar to Batch 13, yet still its own thing. It feels wild and industrial at the same time, with its maritime and herbal notes interwoven beautifully. I cannot exaggerate how shockingly beautiful this whisky is, at least for me. Perfect to forget, even for a moment, the painfully fragile finitude of human life. ◆ Rating: 9.8/10 --> Favorites. Exactly what I’m looking for (✪) ◈ Thought process behind the score: I absolutely adore it, so it’s a +9.5/10. It’s very similar to Batch 13, though a little less complex and a bit more refined, so I think I very slightly prefer Batch 13, which earned a 9.9/10 (along with a long and obscure Kantian justification). Therefore, this one deserves a 9.8/10. ◇ Quality/price ratio: 4/5 (Good price) ▪ Same rating as these OB’s: Ardbeg Uigeadail, Michel Couvreur’s Candid, Laphroaig An Cuan Mòr, Port Charlotte Scottish Barley, Springbank 15.
It tastes great, and compared to B16, it has more depth.

Like the 10er, 40abv, but hey, not. Clearer, hefty laph, clean, pungent, but not alcoholic aggressive, a deep sweet sherry note completely without this hallmark adstringent bitterness, which reached its climax in the oloroso bottling at 48% last year and which was so characteristic of the last undrinkable bottlings. And not so monophasic as the non bad sherry spoit ones like the 16y, batch 13. |

Long. Clean, strong laph. Not spirity as the last Batches (as the16y 48%). It is the a absolutely best laphroaig since 30 years. Oh my God. In comparison to batch 13: this slight awefull bad sherry bitterness is no longer present, it is clean and fragrant. I would die for this one |
Extremely multi-layered, complex, smoky, sweet, spicy, herbal, fruity, washed with all seas at the end

Delicious drink with extremely well integrated alcohol. This batch pleases with sweetness, saltiness and (for Laphroaig) subtle smokiness. The finish is long and harmonious. I can't quite understand the hysteria among some here over the use of dye (even if it's not nice): you wouldn't notice it blindly... Doesn't it depend on taste?

Do not add much water to this batch!
Aroma: dense, oily base note, smoked bacon, only slightly phenolic, beautiful balance, almost a bit restrained for a 10-year-old CS, overall finely crafted, subtly salty and iodine-like, with sweet fruit notes, salted peach, herbal, alcohol very well integrated Taste: densely woven, machine oil, woody spice, great balance, maritime saltiness, sweet undertone, ginger, very well-integrated alcohol, medium to long finish Color: Yellow gold, medium waterline, clear Conclusion: Here is a smoother version of the 10 CS, with fewer rough edges, but by no means mundane - overall more charming than "rebellious", and thus (once again) a very individual interpretation of the 10 CS - great!

The difference to the previous batch 013 is striking. Not in terms of quality, since Batch 014 and Batch 013 are on par, but in terms of the type of aromas that can be found in the glass. I can't remember identifying such a fruit and ham note in a 10 CS (ex-Bourbon Casks especially) that then blends in so well and harmonizes so well with the other "classic" aromas. Edit: On Wednesday, April 20th, 2022, the first Laphroaig online tasting took place with the new Distillery Manager and successor to John Campbell, Barry MacAffer. This 10 CS was the first dram tasted and MacAffer in the course of the broadcast gave the cask composition: 69.5% 1st fill bourbon 30.5% refill bourbon

"Rough and extremely demanding" were the words I would have used to describe him after a first sniff. Not uncommon for a 10 CS, but after just a few moments in the glass and a second sniff, it suddenly becomes almost soft and a lot more approachable - which suits it very well. Seaweed, smoked ham, warm tar paper, salty sea spray, a box full of Hansaplast adhesive plasters, peat smoke - the spicy bacon in particular stands out here as a special feature, all other flavors are good and valued acquaintances. A spice mixture that, with thyme, rosemary, chervil and a little cinnamon, is not at all tart, but rather partly sweet. And that note of smoked ham… |

Absolutely classic 10 CS start: clear peat smoke that only Laphroaig can manage. A breeze from the Wadden Sea, pregnant with salt. Seaweed, warm tar, machine oil, Hansaplast and again the spicy smoked ham from the nose. In addition, there is a nice fruity note of grilled peach slices, which I have to think about in a quiet minute, whether I have ever had them in a 10 CS. Grilled peaches on smoked ham, I should try it in real life. Great cinema, what he delivers on the tongue. On the one hand the classic tart aromas, on the other hand this very special fruit note. |

Yes, this is really the best whisky I know so far. Wonderfully sweet, full and peaty. For example, this makes the Talisker 18 a boring dog.
It made a better impression on me than the previous batch 13. Although not much, it is more complex and interesting in aroma and taste. Remarkably integrated alcohol - 58.6% are not felt in the aroma and taste. Given the price of 80 €, this is a very good whisky for a winter evening.
