Fragrance: Slightly sweet, cherries, fruits, slightly varnish, vanilla The taste is sweet, slightly woody and smoky, with some cherries and chocolate. The finish is quite short but pleasant, slightly spicy but leaves a pleasant sweet aftertaste on the tongue.

For me, this one is definitely more interesting than the Double Cask. Has some additional layer of sherry influence. It's easy, light and offers some more fruitiness and spices than Double Cask.

Nose with classic aromas of bourbon and sherry. Tasty, too, with no rough edges. Nothing to analyze deeply and long. But tasty. Exit quite short. I would have tasted it blindly. A no-brainer for 25 € and less.

The sweetness is very complex on the nose - bright crisp fruits, caramel, honey. A little cooling menthol & oak. The sweetness is largely absent on the palate. Instead there is dry oak, followed by light lemon zest and a long tobacco finish. Overall it is one of my best value whiskies!

Cheap whisky from the supermarket (colruyt), but I was intrigued by the specific mention of sherry barrels. As a big sherry fan, it's worth a try, I assumed. The whisky pours a fairly darkened ocer color. It even sais on the bottle it is colored. Why they still do this is a mystery to me. What's wrong with natural color ??? Scent is relatively mild. I get some vaniline, relatively agressive alcohol. Mild oak. Taste is fairly full, still rather agressive alcohol. Very recognizable sherry - which is a pleasant surprise. First up is the PX - it's sweetness, raisins, turning the whisky almost 'fleshy' in a way. Partly due to the PX, but more from what I assume is an Oloroso Cask, there's quite a bit of nuttyness as well. Not sure what the third barrel is, but I assume amontillado ? Anyway, beautifull sherry expression - exactly what I hoped for, but I didn't dare to expect. The whisky base itself seems a bit 'lost' almost , which is not as desireable, but than again, for this price I feel this is absolutely good value for money. Not recomended as a complex, couch-meditation-pickappart-whisky, but certainly nice as an afterwork 'refreshment'. Will absolutely buy again, as this might (by far) be my favorite value for money to date !

A pleasant, easy-drinking sherried whisky with a light, fruity character and a nice underlying richness from the chocolate and fudge notes. Smooth and approachable, but still interesting enough for a more experienced whisky drinker. At around £23 on sale, it represents excellent value for money and is something I could see appealing equally to a newcomer or a seasoned whisky drinker. At that price, it’s a bit of a steal.

Нос	83	Sherry, green apple, pear and pomegranate, with a little raw flour in the background. Fresh, fruity and fairly light, with a clean and approachable character.
Вкус	82	Dried fruit and pear, followed by quite a lot of milk chocolate and chocolate fudge. There is also a little raspberry and a slight creaminess to the texture. Sweeter and richer than the nose suggests, and very easy to drink.
Финиш	77	Medium in length, with the fruit and chocolate notes fading fairly quickly. A slight bitters note. Pleasant enough, but noticeably simpler and shorter than the palate.

A cheap sherry whisky with 84 points rating in WB (as of 02/27/2020)? Unfortunately, it is not this one. However, there is a drinkable whisky with a noticeable sherry influence for around 23 €.

Вкус	77	Milk chocolate, tannins with hints of fruit. Unfortunately he comes across a bit watery. Alcohol could also be better integrated.

Du glückspilz! N: Tropical/detergent-y fruitiness becoming huskier with oily barley juice later on. T: Light yet sharp/edgy and slightly anaemic to begin with. But wait! Soon we’ve creamy marzipan, white chocolate and [more] husky now sweet barley syrup. F: That sweetness on the turn becomes more crystallised and confectionery towards the tail. Concludes with a funny sweet metallic/industrial creaminess. C: Not too shabby. It’s easy to imagine the combination of price & curiosity will shift stocks. Hard to draw useful comparisons with the all-together-different Ben Bracken, aside from the 28yo shines brighter.

My first reaction was "pretty boring" but at the end of the glass he won me over. This is a really nice, simple whisky that makes a lot of noise at the price level of an ordinary supermarket whisky: ideal as a no-frills whisky enjoyment for beginners, as a light after-work whisky or at the start of a tasting with heavier sherry monsters. It gets Christmassy on the nose: gingerbread spice and orange dominate. A strong sweetness of brown sugar hits the mouth, while the spices reappear in the background, flanked by raisins and a hint of orange. The mouthfeel is unexpectedly creamy. The finish is very short and doesn't make its own mark. But I can forgive that for such a simple-minded candidate.

It has good potential, but the taste is a bit too shallow for me, which is where the 40% alcohol content comes in. Still, it's a very drinkable entry-level whisky, although you do have to make some compromises. It's definitely good value for money, though.

Вкус	77	Sweet and fruity, rather dark. Overall, however, it's quite light (perhaps a little too light?), and the spices on the nose are only faintly noticeable, but at least they're there.
Финиш	79	Sweet and fruity sherry notes, the spice touch now becomes a bit stronger, and a few nuts are present. It dries out the throat and doesn't linger too long, yet is still pleasant.

Considering the price/performance ratio, the Tamnavulin Sherry Cask offers an outstanding indulgent aroma and - hand on heart - the Sherry Cask finishes of some renowned and much more expensive distilleries are sometimes only a hair better. For me, the Tamnavulin Sherry Cask Finish is a delicious, drinkable everyday whisky, with a sherry note that is sufficiently good but not overwhelming. A delicious snack even for small budgets.

Bats well above it's price point. Great nose but initially a little disappointing on the palet. However, put it over ice or with a little chilled water and the sherry noted come to life. If you can pick it up for below £25 then definitely give it a go.

Like his brother, the DC, the nose and taste are amazing given the price. Reasonably complex, no weird notes, balanced, interesting. Obviously sherried. Thin and watery, but i didn't expect anything else for the price. And, like his bro, it has a massive problem: the aftertaste. Super weird, bitter, chemical, artificial, dirty and burned in a bad way. Not completely awful, but pretty bad. And it most probably comes from the liquid itself. As far as I know, they might be running those stills at full capacity, which is not making any favors to the final product, despite the fact the casks they are using are punching above their weight. It's just a complete waste of casks, in my opinion. I envy people that can't find any finish, or that find it short, so lucky lol. If it had none, this whisky would be permanently added to my collection. But i can only honestly enjoy this for 5 minutes before the aftertaste settles in. After that, there are just regrets. I'm very surprised almost nobody seems to care about it. It might be just me. Anyway, I find it pleasant overall despite the appalling finish. Beginners seem to really appreciate it, the only reason I still have the bottle.

Fruit basket. Chill-filtered. Coloured. Matured in American oak ex-bourbon casks. Finished in three different type ex-sherry casks. Thick slowly forming legs. Mid-size slow secondary legs. Cask driven. Very good value for the price.

Its a very young Speyside malt with some sherry influences, plain and simple. very rudimentary and straight forward, its no adventure, but good for the price.

Вкус	75	very mellow, watered down honey with fruit juice, the simple kind. In the back of the mouth and the finish it is quite spicey, some cinnamon is present. after taste is tangy orange bitters and some spice.
Финиш	71	mellow and soft at first, then kind of nothingness in the middle , then a tangy zest bitter finish witch is quite short lasting. more orange bitter and spice on the aftertaste.

A good bang for your buck whisky that doesn't pretend to be anything fancier than it is. Very enjoyable, smooth and mellow.

Нос	83	Sweet orange on the nose. Mixed sweet citrus fruits, cinnamon sugar, vanilla notes in the background, marzipan, not the most complex of noses but very enjoyable.
Вкус	84	The taste is mellow, creamy, honey, light sherry notes, sweet maltiness, slightly sour citrus notes.
Финиш	82	The finish turns more oaky, sherried and a bit spicy - nutmeg, cinnamon - and dries up.

Light, sweet, fruity, easy and cheap. If you need something simple to share with friends at the cottage, this is a good one. Perfect for a party

surprisingly appealing on the nose; if you like a sherry-tinged whisky that is not dominated by sherry, this is the right place and for the price (around € 25) you can't beat it, even if the taste / finish is a bit dry and short. [85 - 81 = delicious --- get a second bottle if price is within the range]
