Okay, something wonderful was bottled, imho amazing! In the nose and on the palate very cautious at first, but if you give it a few minutes it comes out neatly: Plum, chocolate, wet forest floor, forest honey and blackberries. Above everything lies the smoke of a burned matchstick. The finish is long and deep. That is wonderful and exactly my style. Blind? Just impossible to guess, real old-school sherry style at its best. I honestly can't believe it either, 6yo? Was there an old barrel accidentally wrongly labeled? But if you don't like that delicious fuse and matchstick in your whisky, you've come to the wrong place. I'm more than very well served here!

Very drinkable, especially for its age. Malt, green leaves, sherry obviously too, but not completely covered up, PX maybe? Cinnamon etc. Can tolerate a lot of water, the finish doesn't blow me away but it's ok.

Нос	82	I'm torn between plum/chocolate and broth. A bit strange, but that's how it is.
Вкус	80	Dark notes, sherry.
Финиш	84	Dark finish, tobacco, chocolate. Uncomfortable at first, but then wins. Long finish.

Blind sample courtesy of a friend. Somehow I tasted some wood smoke resemblances that I imagined it must be some peated non-scotch. Turns out I was so far off, but got the sherry cask influences right. Dried dates and sultana are quite in line with the EVWC bottling from the same 2014 parcel, while this one had more stonefruits for me. Quite delicious young sherry bomb.

Glentauchers, at any age, seems to always impress. While I prefer the bourbon cask influence, this is a nice dram because the sherry cask has not drown the distillery character. Dark fruits, wild berry jam, light smoke and forest floor, orange and caramel. Very well integrated alcohol and lightly dancing on the tongue. Very pleasant finish with sweet sherry and the light smoke and forest floor hanging on.

I can't do anything with this whisky. Too sharp, too one-dimensional. Apart from sherry, I actually only find old, musty wood. I find the really long finish to be rather unpleasant and slightly bitter.

Stammtisch Dram #2: A shady fellow. Without water, the alcohol pricks your nose too much and suppresses the other aromas. Unfortunately, the malt doesn't float all that well and so the taste seems a bit watery. Doesn't really convince me.

A whisky like from the old school - or from the "good" old days. There is no sign of youth in the dram. Reminds me of the very sherry-heavy Adelphi bottlings from various distilleries (Aultmore, Glen Elgin, Glenrothes, Breath of Speyside by Glenfarclas...), which were available from the early 2000s up to max. 2010. Real good stuff.

Strong, dry and lightly oaky. Old school whisky. Hard to believe it's only 6 years old. N: honey and sherry on the front, dark berries, cinnamon, light oak P: licorice, dark chocolate, sherry and leather Stylish, balanced, rich in flavours. Strong sherry and oaky whisky.

Impressions from a blind tasting. Modern sherry whisky, quite sweet, it absolutely has to have water.

Нос	84	Starts out tart: fresh walnuts, clear alcoholic stinging, herbal. Later still cane sugar, beet syrup, berry jam.
Вкус	84	Without water: hits the tongue extremely, it burns and tingles. With water: significantly milder, plum jam, dried fruit, some Christmas spices.
Финиш	82	Medium length, sweet at first, until a strong dryness takes over on the tongue, bordering on bitter.

Вкус	88	Full of character, excellently integrated alcohol, very aromatic - fruits, sherry, coffee liqueur
Финиш	89	very long and warm finish Conclusion: great single barrel, very mature, good PLV

Another young malt that convinces with a good combination of aromas and that gets a certain something from this sulfur touch. Great thing even without any real Christmas flair. Overall, it looks a bit older.

Нос	89	Soft and with a lot of dark sherry it arrives in the nose, a lot of fruit like plums, raisins, oranges, cherries. A nice chocolate sweetness carries the fruit aromas to the front. Acts like a sugared fruit salad, with slightly deeper and more pronounced notes of moist forest floor, tobacco, antique wood. A slight sulfur note is added in the background. I like that very much.
Вкус	87	Spicy, peppery-hot but at the same time a bit creamy and oily, oak spice in combination with dark fruits and this chocolate sweetness. Some vanilla tobacco with malt and spices,
Финиш	87	Long finish, a little more fruit and spice, tobacco, again slightly peppery and spicy and malty at the end

You can't taste the youth of this malt at all. Not easy with corners & edges and still delicious and fits into the winter time, warms you up from the inside!

Нос	89	Very spicy on the nose, sherry, slightly medicinal, fruit compote, roasted hazelnuts. Smells delicious.
Вкус	86	In the mouth, the alcohol first hits the tongue, then figs and orange peel. Dark chocolate, tart wood tones and marzipan. A tart bitterness spreads, a bit irritating at the first sip, but then more pleasant.
Финиш	87	The soft finish is quite long, the sherry sweetness is present for a long time, but paired with bitterness.
