This whisky is a masterpiece and, in my view, a milestone among the very good 10-year Port Charlotte bottlings. The white wine cask has brought the perfect amount of light and citrus-rich fruits without adding too much acidity or junkiness. Simply delicious, a malt that I will think for a long time. (Minimal) better is there only the Port Charlotte Cask Exploration Valinch 01 - Se? Laid.

Eye / Nose: You rarely see a Whisky from a Granache Blanc barrel. Visually, I had presented him completely different. Bright, just like white wine, son in the direction of the signatory UCF Bunna Moine from the Chardonnay Higshead. PC06 Valinch is different. Full of cognac, he shines in the glass. The malt on the walls of Glencairns forms very beautiful stained-glass windows. In the nose, the hand-warm whisky spreads a scent of burning fir-paths - the look worriedly sways, luckily still untouched, Advent wreath. Forest honey-like, smoky notes, complemented in the background by a slightly maritime freshness, as is often so characteristic of Port Charlotte. The pleasant tingling reveals the cask strength, without being sprightly even beginnings. It's amazing how intense the malt works in the nose! Palate: Velvety / strong / full-bodied, actually I could stop here to write and just continue to enjoy. The malt fills the mouth with velvety-warmth and immediately appeals with its equally powerful and elegant style. The fruity-sweet wine notes with hints of ripe citrus fruit stand out more clearly, the rich smoke spreads quickly and takes up plenty of room. If he stays longer in the mouth, the Valinch looks rounder and more pleasing from second to second. After a while, I think nuts with light fruits and a dash of whisky and inevitably smile. Finish: The finish is dominated by the sweet smoke on the one hand, which remains present for a long time, and by a wonderful, almost 'blazing' heat, which rises when the malt leaves. After a while, the feeling changes. The influence of wine dries mouth, oak spicy comes out.
