One of the best whiskies I’ve ever tasted. Looks like a soya sauce. Sweet and smooth, like a strawberry compote. There are as well candied fruits, milk chocolate, raisins, berries. Perfect from the beginning to the end. Finish is long-lasting and super pleasant! I’m in a sherry heaven. I am totally surprised by the difference between version 89 and 91!

EYE / NOSE Mahogany in the glass. On the nose, cocoa beans, roasted almonds, and old leather meet caramelized pastries, sea salt, and bitter orange marmalade. Behind these, ripe apples, dried figs, a hint of cinnamon cream, and lightly caramelized pear unfold. Notes of wood polish, tobacco leaves, and a fine veil of patina, leather, and old book spines, like the scent of a long-forgotten library: dusty, spicy, almost venerable. A very profound fragrance. Warm, inviting, and complex. It's the perfect introduction to Kingsman. PALATE A truly powerful opening with baked plums, sultanas, and milk chocolate. An elegant leather note, accompanied by sweetened mocha, a hint of gianduja with delicate hazelnut, and heavy, aged sherry. Oily and rich, with subtle spice from nutmeg and vanilla. On the palate, the Kingsman reveals even more depth of sherry, superbly integrated, never overly sweet. FINISH / CONCLUSION Long, dry, and elegantly lingering, with dark chocolate, dried red berries (as you'd find in fruit muesli), grape skin, and bitter, woody oak spice. Stunning stuff. Big powerful sherry, dark colour, mesmerizing nose but the palate is complex and showing good vigor. Its not overoaked or too old. Perfect balance Well Done, Dr. Rachel Barrie

Nose: sherry, sherry and even more sherry. ahhhh there comes something, oh no, even more sherry: smile: joking aside. So if you are looking for sherry heaven somewhere, you will definitely find it here. Dark, boiled-down berries (blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, gooseberries, cherries) pair wonderfully with musty leather, an old wine cellar, caramelized nuts, dates and raisins. The musty leather goes away after a few minutes and lets a fresh mint through, very cool, reminiscent of some old whisky from the 70s. You can slowly recognize the spicy character in the background with cranbarrys. What will the palate say? I'm curious! On the tongue: surprisingly soft, full-bodied, caramel, nougat pralines, sweet, candied ginger, spicy and creamy, boiled oranges, and a hint of plum jam. Then there are nuts, dark chocolate, slight hints of liquorice, but the wood is not too noticeable, amazing! The second time I try it, there are even tropical hints, I have a long-ripened, sweet pineapple and spice cake. Mega. Finish: Forever long, a mixture of nut chocolate and white coffee. I like the dram very much, even as a Glendronach fan I would like to think that Rachel has conjured up something fabulous here. Definitely better (personal opinion) than like Batch 10 and Batch 8, I first have to compare whether it can get to Batch 9, I keep a little aside from the dram, but from memory I prefer Batch 9. Is it worth it in terms of price? That is up to you! It's always cool, but also expensive!

Having drank it myself, to a large extent, I think this one is more balanced and delicious than the early Dorner 72, 73, 76, and 77 that have been bottled so far. The barrels of 1972 are all top-notch and full-bodied, but unfortunately they are all walking on a tightrope on the issue of eating barrels. I think this one is more balanced, and it seems to be easy to handle. It is full-bodied and full-bodied without feeling heavy at all.

My favorite mix of malts from GD.. Not all blends suit me, but here RB managed to use such barrels to make it a super drink... Combination of sweetness of candied fruit light chocolate with basic malt descilate... I drink it with a smile on my face.. It flows down slowly, sticking to the tongue for a long time with what it has the best to offer..

This soy sauce-colored wine is full-bodied and suppresses the alcohol very well, with a standard sherry barrel-aged taste. Smell: Very clear wine aroma, mango, carambola, sweet apricot, bronze, liquid foundation, orange mousse, light oak. Entrance: The taste is sweet and sour, like drinking a sip of juice, mango, apricot, banana, honey, a touch of grain aroma, and finally the feeling of oak and spices. Finish: Medium length, juice, grains, spices.

Full whisky, nice long finish

Absolutely top class, although I have to say that I find the Grandeur 12 even better.

The most complete set of barrels I have ever drunk. Balance at the highest level. Intense long end. Alcohol perfectly hidden and amazing color

A very good, intense sherry malt. The bitter-tart spice and plenty of oak are prominent, while the fruit remains somewhat in the background but is still well-developed. A syrupy mouthfeel. I like that. But: It doesn't offer anything so special that it would even begin to justify the high price compared to similar bottlings. While it's not easy to get a profile like this, and certainly not cheap, it's still noticeably cheaper. Starting at around €500, you can definitely find something of this level today. With luck, maybe even cheaper. So it's a nice sample, but a bottle at that price is a joke.

Aroma It's dense and complex at first. Ripe, dark fruit blends with darker notes of raisins, dates, and figs. Then, delicate notes of polished wood emerge, along with a hint of leather and an elegant spice reminiscent of cinnamon and nutmeg. Over time, the bouquet opens, revealing balsamic nuances and a subtle, almost ethereal freshness. Taste It's full-bodied and creamy, with an oily consistency. The fruit sweetness remains present, but is enhanced by strong Oloroso and PX influences: dark honey, toffee, roasted nuts, and a deep, slightly bitter chocolate note. The structure is impressive – densely woven, with perfectly integrated spices that slowly unfold across the palate, creating a sense of excitement. Finish It's long, with increasingly dry sherry notes. Herbal notes, a touch of oak, and delicate tannins accompany the lingering aftertaste. The sweetness subsides gently, giving way to an elegant, slightly bitter finish with lingering warmth.

My fav from Glendronach

I cracked this bottle with some anther sherry stuff on my birthday party. It was the star for the night. It reminds me some old-style sherry whiskies from 1980s. It is well balance, complex with long finishing. It got all the characters that you expect from sherry cask mature, but not spicy and wooden stuff from the oak. Highly recommended

Very nice sherry whisky

Rachel really set a benchmark here. Expectations were very high, and this malt even exceeded them. One of the best sherry malts I've had in my glass. Chapeau!

An incredibly fruity and complex whisky - from start to finish simply GREAT - that you should have drunk once - a great barrel was chosen. The best Glendronach I've ever had in my glass :-)) ... if only it weren't for the price ....

The colour is a deep amber brown and the nose is immediately rich and nutty. Dark dried fruits, especially raisins and figs, mingle with robust wood spices. There are also heavy aromas of dark chocolate and dried orange. Underneath is a hint of jammy blackberry compote. On the palate this whisky is robust, viscous and rich. Heavy wood notes combine with dark dried fruit notes - imagine raisins, figs, currants - to give a syrupy and mouth coating feel. These wood notes are then joined by warming baking spices. These characteristics are all underpinned with further notes of molasses, treacle, orange oil and high cocoa dark chocolate. It is deep, complex and full-on. The finish is extremely long and warming. The sweeter elements, particularly the dried fruits and molasses notes, fade to allow the bitter, woody, nutty and spicy characteristics the opportunity to shine. A pleasant hint of orange oil, dark chocolate and cocoa coming through later on.

Nutty, leathery, fruity finish Long, aromatic finish. Very well-integrated alcohol.

Milk chocolate, prune, cacao mass, traditional soy-sauce-like savory notes The nose reveals a gently powdery character. The rich, sweet profile of milk chocolate makes an intuitive entrance, complemented by the dark and dense sweetness of rich prunes and cacao mass. On the palate, a balanced touch of savory umami pairs with sweet sherry, wonderfully capturing the true, classic essence of Glendronach.
