I am reely impressed by this brand, this handfill is amazing stuff

I love the delicate sherry aged whisky. And I don't like aggressive. The presented sample reminds us of this.

For me, it's like a perfect Glendronach with everything that goes with it. I love this bottling, and it's far better than most from that era with more years of maturation.

...not really on the cheap side at 105 £ for a hand filled at he distillery but to me its worth the money. One of the best Glenallachie in this age class. its a typical fruity sherry bomb Speysider with the special distillery character. This was a really good cask. What I like about it is that it is steady from nose to finish. The level of alcohol gives it the right power and freshness that I prefer. For me a definite buy.

Does not necessarily need water, but a few drops of water are recommended but only very little. Super dram.

I haven't had any bad whisky from GlenAllachie in the glass so I'm curious to see what this 13-year-old hand filled Glenallachie from the first-fill sherry butt has to offer. The very dark color promises me a very intense barrel influence. In the nose, a powerful fruitiness dominates with cherries, blackberries, raisins and an aroma that reminds me a little of raspberry and Ahoyebraus powder. A few dashes of lemon juice provide a slight acidity that is wonderfully integrated. Dark nut chocolate is clearly noticeable, with a pinch of pepper and gingerbread spice and the wood from the oak barrel. However, the tart flavors only play a subordinate role. The fruitiness, which covers the spectrum from sour to heavy and boiled down, is the dominant part in combination with dark nut chocolate. In the mouth, the whisky is initially very strong and tingles violently on the tongue. This shows the 59.8% alcohol content. Chilli spiciness tingles on the tongue, peppery tingling spreads in the mouth, together with a fruitiness of preserved fruits and the lemon juice splashes. Then the spice load rolls up with a lot of pepper, gingerbread spice and dark chocolate. I need some water, the alcohol content is too high. I dilute down to about 55%. The sharpness in the mouth is now weakened. The GlenAllachie takes on the mouth area sweetly and fruity, the spiciness and the dark chocolate become stronger again and combines great with the raisins, boiled cherries and the light note of raspberry-Ahoy bra, which goes wonderfully with it. The finish is short to medium in length with a great combination of sweetness, fruit and spiciness. The sweetness is not as present as in the taste, the spiciness also brings dark chocolate with it, which develops in the direction of milk coffee. Hints of leather and tobacco are perceptible. Too bad that the finish suddenly disappeared so quickly ... I just had the aftertaste of raisins in my mouth sprinkled with pepper ... and now the quick finish tempts me to start the next sip. I really enjoyed a successful malt. Intense and powerful aromas from the sherry barrel, which harmonize well with each other. If you don't like these modern sherry bombs, you probably won't be completely happy here. These types of sherry whiskys have been in great demand lately. I personally miss the complexity and filigree notes of such fillings more and more. This is again a representative of the variety: "It is not the most complex whisky, but it does what it should be able to do really well and with full power." I get good 89/100 points.

This is a malt that was allowed to mature in a very strong sherry cask. The basic fire itself has no chance to make a big impact. But the barrel is immaculate and shows no sulphurous tendencies. The overall result is neither too sweet nor too dry and creates a strange, but quite interesting association with Franconian sauerbraten. For me personally, the barrel is a bit too dominant, but anyone who likes barrel-raised malts with decent sherry aromas will definitely enjoy this.

Raisins, prunes, strong enough. The barrel got the better of the cleric, I'm not sure if I like it. The first vulture is quite sweet and stringy. Reveals after 20 minutes. Round, but still too sweet and luscious for me

This is an absolutely cracking dram. The best GA I've tasted so far, which got better and better after exposure to O2.
