It's more intense than the aroma, oily and thick. Nuts, dark chocolate, coffee, buckwheat honey, caramel, a very pleasant hint of wet wood, spices, cocoa, and cinnamon. A bit of old, dusty leather furniture, tobacco, and a musty note from a damp basement. All of this is complemented by dried and dark fruits, chocolate-covered raisins, plum jam, prunes, and dark berry jam. The alcohol is also excellent on the palate. |

Long, completely consistent with the flavor, intense, clinging to the throat and lingering. All those accents, like leather, tobacco, dust, and wet wood, combined with dark and dried fruit, chocolate, caramel, and nuts. |
Nose: A few minutes in the glass and some warmth have dissipated the initial alcohol sting. Christmas spices and intense sweetness now dominate the opening. Followed by blackberry jam, very sweet milk chocolate, and a touch of marzipan. Lots of sherry, honey, sugared oranges, and a hint of menthol. Taste: Thickened fruit juice, berry compote, extremely sweet, lots of sherry, honey, liquorice, the oak comes through a bit but struggles to break through the sherry, dark chocolate, coffee with milk, pleasant roasted aromas, raisins, dried dates, very well integrated alcohol Finish: Longer and warming with, oh what a miracle, sherry, lots of creamy sweetness and a pleasant portion of wood (oak spice and cocoa), a little mint "freshens up" the finish a bit. In total: Based on the mouthfeel, dilution is absolutely unnecessary. This bottling is difficult for me. I don't want to find fault, but it has to be said that this bottling absolutely captures the spirit of the times. I mean that in a negative way, though. A completely sweet sherry bomb. No notes are really needed here; it's enough if the reader simply imagines all the dark fruit and sweet aromas associated with sherry, and applies them equally to the nose, mouth, and finish. For some, it's chocolate, jam, dried fruit, etc., for others, it's sugar-coated syrup, plum compote, cocoa... My list of aromas above is by no means exhaustive. It's truly a high-quality sherry bomb, and I don't want to say I don't enjoy it, but the GD is rather one-dimensional – sherry in oak – end of story. Which brings us back to a fundamental discussion. The best whisky (for me) is the one that takes me on an (aromatic) journey. Exciting twists and turns, and sometimes even unusual aromas. I don't find any of that in the Glendronach style. Therefore, considering all whiskies as a whole, I consider it overrated in its base. However, in the category of modern sherry monsters, it's a very, very good whisky. I still really enjoy it!

Gaspipes and sulphur. I had huge problems to finish just 1cl of it. Maybe the shared bottle/sample wasn't stored well in all these years, but this was borderline undrinkable for me.
It looks like Whisky-Tester tasted too much whisky and that he's is drunk :|
with patience and hand warmth a wonderful "Darksherry" nose without mistakes with a lot of pulsating life and complexity on the palate rather one-dimensional sherry hammer - high quality but just not exciting enough for ü90 for me

For me it is by far the best Glendronach I have drunk so far. Everything is just right for me here. The price is still ok in 2020 compared to similar single casks. I think this bottle will soon be out of stock. It's a shame ... I can only recommend everyone to treat themselves to this bottle. For me it plays in the upper league. I don't need to write anything more about the notes. The connoisseurs here wrote everything. Simply a great experience ...

The best bottle I have. Tastes like heaven.
Glendronach Single Cask at its finest. Very good. A very good sherry cask. Partly fruity, partly spicy. Good balance. But it doesn't quite reach the level of cask 7434. 91-100 – Whisky heaven, best stuff

I was stunned into quiet contemplation during my 1st, 2nd and 3rd drams of GlenDronach 1993 Single Cask Bottling, Cask #660. To note, it tastes nothing like the standard GlenDronach 12 Year, 15 Year Revival, 18 Year Allardice nor 21 Year Parliament. (And all of those standard bottles are standout.) But you can taste the “DNA” of GlenDronach in this Single Cask bottle. I’m not sure what crazy magic went into Cask #660, but this is the best GlenDronach bottle I’ve ever tasted. It is legendary. Color & Appearance: 1.7, Burnt Umber. Gorgeous natural color. Being in a sherry butt for 24 years might have something to do with it. :) Super slow, oily thick legs that take forever to fall.

Sherry, stewed figs, caramel, zero ABV burn (even at 59.2% ABV!), raisins. After a bit more time, chocolate, blackberry jam. |

Incredible mouthfeel. Thick, almost viscous. Stunning! Glorious complex stewed berries, dark stone fruits, plums, figs, cherries! The mouthfeel continues to remain strong, there’s sweet ginger. At a whopping 59.2% ABV (118.4 Proof), it doesn’t even bother: It’s *so* smooth and well-integrated. One of my hardcore whisky buddies was shocked when I mentioned the ABV (he thought it was so balanced he wondered if it was only a 46% or 49% ABV bottle). Letting it sit on the tongue just a bit and you awaken a bigger explosion of real fig and dried fruit flavors and sweetness, then caramel. My tasting notes literally end with “gorgeous, absurd!” |

Long, beautiful finish. Stone fruits sweetness. Dark chocolate (quality 80% cacao), zero woodiness, zero ABV burn on the finish. It’s so well balanced. |

Comment: a wonderful Glendronach, as the fans love him. Strong sherry, just under 60% alcohol, which is wonderfully integrated and a complexity that makes this malt a representative of the Champions League. If you do not already have one, you should absolutely secure a bottle before this piece of jewelery is sold out.

I just had the Grandeur Batch 8 (WID:89330) and Batch 9 (WID:107504) and funnily enough, this single cask is like a mixture of these two Grandeurs. Batch 8 was more spicy and Batch 9 more fruity. For me, this single cask has a really homogenous interplay of fruit and spice. Not quite as fruity as Batch 9, but also not as spicy as Batch 8. For me, this results in a bottling that I find even better than the two Grandeurs. Simply because - for me - it has the more harmonious ratio of fruit and spice. Great bottling.
A subtle change .. This is probably the most cask I have ever drunk ... A few other bottles fell, but the holy grail of Glendronach ... This barrel was exceptional in everything from the smell to the finish
Takes a little time and 2-3 drops of water at first, but then it's great! Furniture polish, tart chocolate, black berries, plum jam, and aged sherry. Plus sweet orange peel and a hint of licorice.
In principle, there's nothing more to write here. Cask #660 is arguably one of the most legendary single-coffee bottlings ever, and especially from Glendronach. Not only are there already plenty of detailed reviews, but practically everyone here is already familiar with this bottling. An incredibly intense sherry bomb. Chocolate sauce, fig sweetness, coffee, old leather. All expertly interwoven and abundant. This wine has earned its reputation. The only question that remains is: Is this still whisky or is it past its prime?

Barrel series no. 6... from 1993 is probably my favorite series, it is thick and fat on the tongue, the aroma swirls in the nose for a long time and reminds you of everything that is best in a good Glendrone, currants and cherries, slightly almond alcohol perfectly balanced, it's a pity that only a little bit. I have to hunt down a whole bottle

Color: terracotta Nose: dark fruits, nutty, herbs, raisins, slightly mellow wood, Honigmet, the alcohol is present but not disturbing and well integrated. Taste: here, the alcohol is really present and almost too stormy, then comes a sweetness of honey and caramel but also a light woodiness, block chocolate, raisins, plum, light peppery, Over time it becomes creamier and the alcohol becomes more pleasant and the sweetness becomes more intense. So for me you have to leave him something first and thus takes time first. Finish: long, sweet but also tart and woody, Is a nice representative of the sherry-stored whiskys who have not yet drowned in sherry. Although I'm not really a fan of sherry maturity, I like it very much and was a worthy passenger on the bus.
Chocolate, nougat, coffee beans, ripe dates, wood-flavored, strawberries, sticky-sweet A few drops of water are good for him, but he is not an open water swimmer. very good, but unfortunately now too expensive
A singlecask by Glendronach as it is in the book, the oak makes itself clearly noticeable after 24 years, but it is very good. He actually makes no mistake. For me it is a significant increase to the 18s or 21s of the standard range. It is a matter of taste all times. With its price of about 200 € a true recommendation, how much more value he has to decide for himself.
If you're on the light side like me, it's going to be very difficult to be objective about this dram. It is clear to me that I have arrived here at a high Glendronach level. Accordingly, I will now build up the necessary respect in order not to unnecessarily reveal my bourbon nerd feelings. Also, I will not address the topic of PLV. Out of place.
