Nose - this is sweet and crisp, fruity. Sweet tropical fruits, mango, papaya and pineapple. Very ripe apricots and peaches. Canned peaches and tangerines in brine. Juicy apples and some green, slightly sour ones. Oranges and some lemons. Sour cherries and green grapes. Vanilla sugar and fruity toffee. Cinnamon, cardamom and some ginger. Apple pie and caramel. Lemon sponge cake, lemongrass and icing. Almonds and walnuts. Milk chocolate and sultanas soaked in rum. Marzipan chocolates. When the aroma dims a little, additional honey accents appear. Taste - sweet with a slight spiciness. Heavily ripe fruit, plums, peaches and mangoes. Apricot jam. Apple pie with lots of cinnamon. Coffee cream with sultanas. The slight tartness of grapefruit. Hazelnut paste, toffee and ‘Fudge’ sweets. Caramel/vanilla pudding. Marzipan chocolates and ‘Malaga’. Cardamom, spiciness of chilli and coloured pepper. Finish - medium-long. Really impressed, getting a tropical fruit bowl with pineapple, lemon, mango, apricots orange, strawberry with honey, chocolate, cherry and spicy notes. The combination of bourbon and Malaga casks is an experiment that works despite a low 40% it’s good value.

The Bushmills 14 isn't particularly complex or multifaceted. As is typical for the Core Rage range, it's unfortunately bottled at only 40% ABV. But it's wonderfully drinkable, smooth, and fruity. The Malaga finish gives it a lovely sweetness. For many, it will probably be too smooth and too sweet. But anyone looking for a well-made, super fruity whisky will be very happy with this one.

A lovely fruity thing. Enjoyed at the start of an evening or at the beginning of a series of tastings, it shouldn't be too bad even at 40%. Otherwise, we've been pretty spoiled by Bushmills and the Causeway Collection in terms of alcohol strength.

A lovely, light, fruity summer whisky. Very balanced and well-rounded. Good for beginners and occasional drinkers who aren't so keen on whisky.

Not very complex, but intense, enjoyable, coherent, a storm of fruit, hard to put down. A great match/movie companion.

Nos: słodko, winnie, lekko apteczne klimaty na nosie jak jodyna lub coś podobnego. Smak: alkoholowo, lekko słodko, lekko apteczne, ogólnie smaki są delikatne. Troszkę wanili, słodyczy owoców ciemnych (jak z borówek lub ciemnych winogron) i to wszystko Finish: krótki, zostaje trochę wanili i aptecznosci

Good quality whisky as every Bush. Not that sweet and sherry like the others. There is much more of tropical fruits, not that sweet, delicate and tasty. Worth a try!

The color shimmers beautifully in a darker rose gold tone. I couldn't find any indication anywhere that it had been colored. That would be positive. First of all, delicate. Lovely; fruity; ripe and sweet. Sour mirabelle plums; creamy honey; juicy mandarins; 0 alcohol, where would it come from; a little yellow, juicy pear; delicate light caramel. Suitable for the masses, perfectly round. But not boring at all... ...starts with delicate oak. Now come the fruits, hoo, sort, quinces; sour currants; sour mandarins; a spiciness resonates, tingling. Smooth, but I miss the sweetness from the nose here. There is also a bit of dark chocolate... ...it goes well with that too. The finish is surprisingly tart. Oak; a little herbal; and there's also some of my beloved Moscato aroma. It's got something, I like it, I can handle the 40%.

Bushmills, already a great underrated whisky. This is still exceptional in taste. VFM through the roof! Well done Bushmills for this great 14 year old and stating the age!

A whisky with a very bright, vinous aroma. It develops interestingly over time, but is also friendly and ready to drink from the start; you don't have to spend half an hour or an hour waiting for it to unwind and become less shy in the glass. Moderately bright, beautiful, and easy to drink, like most Irish whiskys. Not empty, but full of character. Its age isn't noticeable, but the cask's work is evident in both the taste and aroma, as well as the texture of the spirit itself. The taste and finish are typical of whiskys matured in fortified wine casks. Apparently, Malaga is one of those. I'm a big Bushmills fan, and this release didn't disappoint.

This new addition joins an iconic lineup comprising the Bushmills 10, 16, and 21 Year Olds and the recently released 25 and 30 Year Old expressions. Unlike its sherry-inspired siblings in the Bushmills prestige range, the new 14 Year Old is finished in Malaga casks, making it unmistakably different. Firstly it is matured in first and second-fill bourbon casks for 14 years and then it is finished for up to 12 months in Muscat of Alexandria white wine Málaga casks. Muscat of Alexandria is a white wine grape that is a member of the Muscat family of Vitis vinifera. It is considered an "ancient vine", and wine experts believe it is one of the oldest genetically unmodified vines still in existence. Málaga is a sweet fortified wine originating in the Spanish city of Málaga made from Pedro Ximénez and Moscatel grapes. Overall I have to say that this is a very well put together whisky. The nose is magnificent and I could nose this for the whole night, the taste is complex, smooth and nice. The finish is long enough so that you don't want another sip immediately. I will say that this is a great addition to their core range because it steps in between the 10 and the 16 and fills the price gap very well. I recommend you buy one. 87 / 100

Nice sipper. The kind of whisky where you finish a bottle in a group of friends and wish you had a second one.

Aroma: Fruity, with notes of red fruits, red apples, a touch of raisins, plenty of honey, dried-fruit compote, and a gentle spiciness Taste: Fruity, with dried fruits, red apples, lots of honeyed notes, a bit of dessert sweetness, and a pleasant spicy, warming character, the finish is medium-long, fruity-spicy, and fairly sweet Overall Impression: A good and well-balanced whisky at a reasonable price

Unfortunately, this Irish beer isn't for me; so without beating around the bush: Calvados. Period. I won't have anything more. A squeaky, intrusively sweet apple aroma with the usual boring vanilla undertone. Much too thin in the mouth; it melts into water. For that money, I'd actually rather buy six bottles of the extremely underrated Glen Orchy at Lidl; this bottling has similar, but less overpowering, fruit aromas. Let's see if it makes sense on a hot summer day; in winter, aside from that overpowering cider aroma, it offers too little of anything for me. There are still 83 objective points, as he has neither any missing grades nor does anything really wrong. UPDATE Spring 25: I've increased the score to 85, as it's indeed quite different on warm days; still quite one-dimensional, but thoroughly delicious! UPDATE Summer 25: Now it's a perfect fit and, in my opinion, no longer seems one-dimensional: Old School Whisky meets Tropicana! - That's ultimately worth 87 points to me. Sorry I took so long here; the penny isn't a dive bomber (translate THAT, algorithm!)... ;o)

Extremely artificial and sweet on the nose, like Haribo peach rings. Round and soft in the mouth, with squeaky peach notes that explode again on the finish, as if you'd shoved a whole bag of peach rings into your mouth and then washed it down with peach iced tea. After that, there's... nothing. Those who like peach will get their money's worth here, but those looking for classic whisky notes will look in vain. Grade: 2-

The Bushmills brand is known to almost every fan of the golden drink. Today, briefly about a new edition that has recently added to the core range of this distillery. Bushmills 14 Malaga Cask Finish 40% 13 years in bourbon casks and one year in sweet Spanish Malaga wine casks What's in the glass? Aroma: Caramel, vanilla, oak, chocolate-covered sultanas, dried red fruits, plums, apples, cherries in syrup. A lot of sweetness. Taste: Sweet, honeyed, alcohol undetectable. Ripe ebony plums, a hint of vanilla, sultanas, malaga ice cream, mead. The whisky is quite thick, even syrupy. Finish: Still quite a lot of sweetness and fruit. After a while there is a slight acidity and astringency. After a longer while a lot of cocoa and nuts come out. A very pleasant candidate for a daily dram.

Fresh, fruity, versatile and exotic but also very sweet. For the price you can really grab it, in my opinion you can't go wrong - 16.06.2024

Long have I waited for such a Bushmills issue. The force is with this one. It is waaaayyy better than regular 16yo and has potential as hell. However, this issue has some issues as well...

A positive surprise. For only 40% ABV, it delivers a fairly intense whisky experience with a fine fruitiness thanks to the finish. For the price, you definitely can't go wrong here.
