It's dark color somehow attracts and raises some high expectations. At first, it looks a little dissappointing then, but this one really deserves some patience and time. After some time, it is getting more and more intense in nose and taste, and do the sherrycask influences their work with a lot of chocolate, coffee, prunes. Very enjoyable one.

Surprisingly there is much more left from the distillery character than expected. - For me the colour doesn´t really mirror the smell and taste of the whisky whis is positive this time. But this is no whisky I´d pay 90 Euoros for.

Very woody and greedy. A bit too much alcohol, but effective.

I definitely perceive the distillery character, as well as dusty wood. Incidentally, I had to go into myself a little and think about what I was actually smelling and tasting. It took a while, but now I've got it: In addition to strawberry jam, which is immediately recognizable, it's the barberries. Meat stew with lots of barberries, as if they had been spilled while cooking. So that they almost completely cover the taste of meat. Also turmeric. The maltiness of the original distillate is also there. Light honey is included. But the barberries are clearly in the foreground. Grapes join in the medium-long finish. Overall I have to say that I like this whisky. The alcohol is average to well integrated and the malt is not too smooth. Slightly spicy. Subtly woody. Moderately sweet and slightly berry sour. No sulfur and no off notes. Looks a year or two younger though. hp In terms of distillery character, I would place Mannochmore somewhere between Glen Moray and Linkwood. So the maltiness is slightly acidic, but not as bad as Aultmore. A little richer than Glen Moray and a little more harmonious than Linkwood (I always have a note of sour cheese with the latter). Second Dram: This time slightly warmed on the radiator. The meaty note now reminds me of kangaroo meat, and now coriander is added to everything. The malt was really well done. Only the color is a bit annoying. I would probably enjoy this whisky more if it had the same flavors with a slightly lighter colour. As it is, it doesn't fit together somehow. But then I probably wouldn't have bought it. As a reference (i.e. as similar malts) I would give the Glen Moray 10yo Whb 59.3% and the Linkwood GM Côte Rôtie Wine Casks Finish. But this Mannochmore is better and more complex than the two.

Quite a dark oloroso matured whisky. I assume not much of Mannochmore is left.. It’s not really my type of whisky as it’s quite strong on dark caramel, ground coffee, dark bitter chocolate with some cracked pepper and dry leaves aromas. Only some bits and pieces of raisins, prunes and dark forest fruits. I like my oloroso matured whiskies more sweet and fruity.

Color: Dark golden. Lider ice tea. Fragrance: Vanilla. Hint of yankie chewing gum. Taste: Slightly spicy. Sweet. Aftertaste: Long. A little spicy. There's a little sweet spearmint something. It's pretty closed.

Big sherry bomb, warming but gently so. Ideal dessert.
